The inaugural Peacebuilding in the South Caucasus lecture series featured Dr. Diana Negroponte, who gave an engaging talk on “Conflict Management and Peacebuilding: Principles and Practice.” Dr. Ali Askerov followed with an insightful discussion on “Peacebuilding between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” focusing on key challenges in the region. Javid Rahimli, LL.M. concluded the event with remarks about the importance of peacebuilding efforts. After the lectures, participants enjoyed a reception with Azerbaijani and Armenian pastries, fostering cultural exchange and dialogue among attendees.

We are honored to introduce Dr. Diana Villiers Negroponte as our first speaker. Dr. Negroponte is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, specializing in international conflict management and resolution. She holds a Ph.D. from Georgetown University and is a graduate of the London School of Economics. Her extensive global experience includes service in Honduras, Mexico, and the Philippines, alongside her distinguished research as a Global Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Author of Master Negotiator: James A. Baker, III’s Role at the End of the Cold War, Dr. Negroponte will be speaking on Conflict Management and Peacebuilding: Principles and Practice.
