The aging population has been acknowledged by the World Economic Forum in Davos as the second greatest challenge humanity faces, following climate change. ? Unfortunately, the current healthcare system is not equipped to address this challenge. We are confronting a significant shortage of healthcare professionals (projected to reach 10 million by 2030, even with the positive impact of AI) and an unsustainable rise in healthcare costs, putting immense pressure on national healthcare systems. ? While prevention is the only way out, it’s impossible without a fundamental transformation of the current paradigm. I am devoted to empowering individuals to own & unlock the value of their health data, and actively engage in self-care and prevention. I remain committed to enabling every person to realize their right to a healthy, long life. Though our bodies are incredibly good at hiding diseases, we are better off when we detect them early. Throughout the 20th century, advancements such as #antibiotics, #vaccines, agricultural innovations, and improved #publichealth measures were pivotal in extending the human #lifespan, particularly in developed nations. The reality of #aging today is an unforgiving one: despite these strides, the additional years gained often come with a burden of chronic illnesses and diminished quality of life, exerting substantial pressure on individuals, #healthcare systems, economies, and societies as a whole. World Economic Forum states that population aging is now the second most pressing global challenge, following closely behind climate change. Addressing this requires an urgent shift towards prioritising preventative healthcare, especially given the gap in healthcare professionals and the unsustainable costs associated with global healthcare expenditure. But #prevention is impossible while our health data remains sparse, scattered, and siloed.? We believe this can and must change. Everyone has the right to age well. Every person should live better, not just longer. By 2035, we endeavor to empower 1 Billion individuals to regain control of their health data as a prerequisite for true preventive care.
