关于我们

AIGA brings design to the world, and the world to designers. As the profession’s oldest and largest professional membership organization for design—with 70 chapters and more than 25,000 members—we advance design as a professional craft, strategic advantage, and vital cultural force. From content that defines the global practice to events that connect and catalyze, we work to enhance the value and deepen the impact of design across all disciplines on business, society, and our collective future. You belong at AIGA. From design fans to the profession’s leading practitioners, AIGA members come from all backgrounds, all fields, and all levels of experience—from all around the world. Whether you’re a design enthusiast, student, freelance designer, in-house designer, design educator, design thinker, or a business owner, AIGA is here to welcome you into the wider world of design We were the first local chapter. We are the local all-volunteer chapter of AIGA. In 1981, a group of Philadelphia designers formed AIGA Philadelphia, the first local chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts. Presently the chapter is comprised of over 600 members. AIGA Philadelphia’s purpose is both integral and complementary to the national organization: to provide the highest standards within the profession and the business community and to stimulate interest and understanding of graphic design and visual communication through lectures, exhibitions, periodicals and other activities.

We're reminiscing back to this weekend when we partnered with Moore College of Art and Design and the Adding Voices Conference to host Sadie Red Wing's session, "Indigeneity is Coming: The Sleeping Spirit is Stirring & Starting to Wake." Sadie's talk fired up a lot of great conversation amongst the audience and got people thinking about what indigeneity is in design and learning about the resources, or lack thereof, to support further development in Indigenous design communities. It was no coincidence that this talk landed during Native American Heritage Awareness Month! We also had the opportunity to catch some of Kandy G Lopez's "Presentation of Self" session, which discussed the many layers of one's identity and how she represents that through the different mediums of her work, such as fiber, paint, stained glass, print, and collage-making. We look forward to seeing more work from these women and hope to partner again! #aigaphilly #addingvoicesconference #designconference

Designers, authors, artists, strategists, and creatives of all types stepped into the "Designing Brand Identity" world and left with a newfound understanding and appreciation of what "Trust the Process" means. Our celebration of Alina Wheeler's impactful career and inaugural student scholarship awards was a treasure, to say the least. Thank you to all of our excellent partners for your help in making this happen. Congratulations to our student scholarship winners for the beautiful exhibit showcasing your work. ?? AIGA Philly remains nonpartisan in all political activities and messaging. We do not endorse any political candidate, campaign, or ideology. ?? graphics by Austin Mullin #aigaphilly #aigavotes

Did you know that Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15th to October 15th??Although the month of acknowledgment has ended, AIGA Philly is dedicated to celebrating communities all year round and is continually growing to diversify our community and impact. In celebration, we’re spotlighting the vibrant Chicano Art Movement! Born from the Chicano Civil Rights Movement, this bold and colorful movement used graphic design to fight for justice, uplift communities and spread cultural pride. We’re excited to collaborate with Laura Rendon-Garcia, an amazing designer who proudly identifies as a first-gen Colombian American, to create this post. She grew up with undocumented parents and around a large Mexican community, and is passionate about immigrant and farm worker rights. Let’s celebrate Hispanic creativity together! How has art inspired you to express your culture or stand up for change? ?? graphics by Laura Rendon-Garcia #aigaphillycelebrateshhm #aigaphilly #chicanoart

Did you know that Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15th to October 15th??Although the month of acknowledgment has ended, AIGA Philly is dedicated to celebrating communities all year round and is continually growing to diversify our community and impact. Today, we spotlight the groundbreaking work of Félix Juan Alberto Beltrán Concepción, a Cuban minimalist known for blending modernism with political activism. We collaborated with talented designer, Camille Velasquez, who identifies as both Cuban and Ecuadorian, to create this carousel. Growing up in Miami, she was immersed in the vibrant cultures of the Latinx and Hispanic communities, enriching her unique perspective. How does culture influence your creative process? Share your thoughts in the comments! ?? graphics by Camille Velasquez #aigaphillycelebrateshhm #aigaphilly #felixbeltran?
