AIA Pennsylvania is the statewide component of The American Institute of Architects. Although independently incorporated, AIA Pennsylvania is officially linked to the National AIA and to the eight local AIA chapters in Pennsylvania. We serve a statewide membership of over 3,000 AIA members. We represent the interests of architects in state government affairs. We advocate public policies that emphasize good community design and responsible stewardship of the built and natural environments. We provide a variety of essential services to members. We are governed by a statewide Board of Directors representing all eight local AIA chapters. Our work is conducted by a full-time professional staff in our Harrisburg headquarters and by a network of volunteer committees.

As a community, we are continuing to move justice and equity decisively from aspiration to action. During the recent EDI Committee program, Beyond Labels Panel, firms FIFTEEN, WRT, and Re:Vision Architecture shared their stories on the evolution of committing to frameworks for equity like the Just Label or EPiC Firm Recognition. Each firm's process was unique but an undoubtable similarity was their admirable devotion to making our profession #equitable. Panelists affirmed that the framework processes enhance employee retention and foster trust with clients. When the firm thrives due to an equitable environment, both clients and the business benefit. Just is a voluntary transparency framework that helps organizations evaluate and improve policies related to social equity, employee well-being, and community engagement, ultimately promoting a more socially just and equitable world. The EPiC Firm Recognition honors firms dedicated to the professional growth of emerging professionals and young architects by evaluating their support in licensure, leadership development, career advancement, and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. The Cove is the food service building located at the center of the JCC’s J&R Summer Camp in Monroeville. Originally a modest, flat-topped space from the 1960s, the new Cove has been transformed into a spacious Dining Hall/Multipurpose Building with outdoor porches, accommodating up to 250 campers. This versatile space can also be used for various activities during hot or inclement weather. Inside, it features an adaptable layout designed to create a low-stimulus environment suitable for neurodiverse campers. We extend our gratitude to the JCC for our 35-year partnership in transforming their facilities! And thanks to A. Martini & Co. for being great construction partners!
