It’s inspiring to see AIAA’s global presence and the amazing work being done in Adelaide!?We will be following along to see how these collaborations grow and continue to foster innovation in the aerospace community. #AIAA?
I’m very fortunate to be in Australia representing AIAA for our 2024 Region VII Student Conference next week and to be visiting with our members leading the professional sections and student branches. My first stop is in Adelaide, a true epicenter of innovation and collaboration in the space industry. Thank you to newly inducted AIAA Associate Fellow and all-star Paddy Neumann for being an amazing guide in helping me meet with and learn about just a few of the many innovators in the city, to include Neumann Space, Saber Astronautics, Inovor Technologies, University of Adelaide Exterres Lab, Southern Launch, and Fleet Space Technologies. I also got to tour the Australian Space Agency Discovery Centre & South Australian Museum, and saw the Adept Rocketry Team unveil their new rocket. What all of these organizations have in common is giving students the opportunity to harness their skills via real world, hands-on experience so that the professional pipeline is always filled, which is right in line with AIAA's mission in shaping the future of aerospace. So much cutting-edge technology developing in Adelaide and I look forward to seeing how AIAA can continue to grow its engagement and partnership with this strong community. I'm incredibly proud to share that our proposal has been officially accepted for the AIAA Design/Build/Fly (DBF) 2025 competition! This prestigious event will take place at the DBF Flyoff in Tucson, Arizona, this April. Despite the introduction of a new proposal scoring system and format this year, our team performed exceptionally well, achieving an improved ranking. As the team leader, it’s an absolute honor to represent the United Arab Emirates and Khalifa University on such a global stage. I’m extremely fortunate to have an amazing team by my side—a group of talented, dedicated individuals whose support and hard work have made this achievement possible. We’re excited for the journey ahead and are fully committed to giving our best in this worldwide competition. Here’s to pushing boundaries and making our mark! #AIAA #DBF #AerospaceEngineering #KhalifaUniversity

?? We love visiting our members in their labs and offices to see their work up close. Last week we were in the Rocky Mountains around Denver. ?? Many thanks to our Corporate Partner Lockheed Martin for an out-of-this-world visit to your space facility. We were also energized by seeing local Corporate Members – Boom Supersonic, Blue Origin, and BAE Systems – and visiting Advanced Space. School was in session – we spent valuable time with student branches at University of Colorado Boulder and Colorado School of Mines. ?? Thank you to Advanced Space for hosting the reception, bringing together the AIAA Rocky Mountain Section for a packed night of learning and networking. ?? Also congrats to Gene Dionne on receiving an AIAA Sustained Service Award—thanks for all you do for AIAA! #AIAA #CAPSTONE
