I am grateful to be awarded the 2025 AIAA SciTech Diversity Scholarship to attend the SciTech Forum & Exposition in Orlando, Florida. The SciTech Forum is the world's largest event for aerospace research, development, and technology. There will be various speakers on the shift in aerospace, many workshops to enhance my skills, and I will be able to network with inspiring people at the forum. Thank you so much to Mark Jernigan for informing me on the opportunity and AIAA for the award! I am over the moon for the opportunity!

We’re thrilled to share that the AIAA has selected Boom Staff Scientist in Applied Aerodynamics David Lazzara to be a member of the Class of 2025 AIAA Associate Fellows. “The AIAA Associate Fellows personify the innovation that drives our industry forward.” - AIAA CEO Dan Dumbacher David was chosen for outstanding contributions to high-fidelity aerodynamic shape optimization and MDAO (Multi-disciplinary Analysis and Optimization) for superior aerodynamic and noise performance of unconventional transonic and supersonic flight vehicles. David, along with the other 2025 Fellows, is contributing to the future of aerospace–a future that looks a little bit faster with supersonic travel.

?? We love visiting our members in their labs and offices to see their work up close. Last week we were in the Rocky Mountains around Denver. ?? Many thanks to our Corporate Partner Lockheed Martin for an out-of-this-world visit to your space facility. We were also energized by seeing local Corporate Members – Boom Supersonic, Blue Origin, and BAE Systems – and visiting Advanced Space. School was in session – we spent valuable time with student branches at University of Colorado Boulder and Colorado School of Mines. ?? Thank you to Advanced Space for hosting the reception, bringing together the AIAA Rocky Mountain Section for a packed night of learning and networking. ?? Also congrats to Gene Dionne on receiving an AIAA Sustained Service Award—thanks for all you do for AIAA! #AIAA #CAPSTONE

Amazing visit with the Lockheed Martin team in Waterton, Colorado. Thanks for all you do in space to help us innovate, explore, and navigate.
Last week, our Waterton campus welcomed executives and CEO Clay Mowry of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) for an inspiring visit that showcased the innovative work happening across Lockheed Martin Space. This visit wasn’t just about facilities tours – it was about strengthening a partnership grounded in advancing aerospace and ensuring Lockheed Martin continues to lead on the global stage. I’m especially proud that Space leads the way, with broad representation in AIAA leadership. Thank you to AIAA for their partnership. We look forward to continuing this collaboration and taking on the next frontier of innovation together! #Partnership #AerospaceLeadership #Innovation

We are beyond thrilled to announce that our team has been awarded the 2024 AIAA Small Satellite Best Paper Award for their paper “Investigation of Structural Architectures for the PowerCube Origami-Inspired Solar Array” presented at the AIAA SciTech Forum earlier this year! This recognition by the AIAA highlights the innovative strides our team is making in deployable structures and solar array technology. The award not only acknowledges the hard work and dedication of our colleagues but also shines a spotlight on our mission to advance space technology. The paper will now be permanently marked as a “Best Paper” in the Aerospace Research Central (ARC) library, featured in the November 2025 issue of Aerospace America, and celebrated on the AIAA Best Papers webpage. To our incredible team of authors lead by the outstanding Laura Schmitz and Antonio Pedivellano: Congratulations on this well-deserved honor! Your passion and expertise continue to propel Dcubed and the aerospace community forward. ?? We look forward to celebrating this milestone further at the Awards Recognition event during SciTech 2025 in January! Thank you to the AIAA Small Satellite Technical Committee for granting us this honor and to the European Space Agency - ESA and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) for funding the development of our PowerCube origami solar array. #AIAA #SmallSat #Dcubed #Innovation #SpaceTech #PowerCube
