Fifteen AIAS students were nominated by faculty based on their project work and GPA. Congratulations to Merit Award winner Joseph Vandrew; and Honor Award winners Jimmy Chavez-Perez, Angela Kesler, and Anastasiia Kruglova! We were happy to have Michael Winn, AIA, Senior Director, Political Affairs and Engagement with AIA National, here in the Triangle for the Town of Chapel Hill's "Small Scale, Big Solutions Missing Middle Housing" symposium. This dynamic program, made possible by the National League of Cities and AIA, explored innovative strategies to tackle housing crises, the real-world obstacles to building missing middle housing, and practical solutions for fostering diverse and inclusive communities. We applaud AIAT members Michael Ambrose, AIA, NCARB, Phil Szostak, Heather Washburn, Bronwyn Charlton, Jennifer Truman, and Heather Ferrell for their role in this important conversation. Thank you Anya Grahn-Federmack and Town of Chapel Hill staff for organizing this program that brought over 100 people together to learn and spark innovation. Let's keep up the momentum!
