关于我们
Founded in 1952, the College of Fellows is composed of members of the Institute who are elevated to Fellowship by a jury of their peers. Fellowship is one of the highest honors the AIA can bestow upon a member. Elevation to Fellowship not only recognizes the achievement of the architect as an individual, but also elevates before the public and the profession those architects who have made significant contributions to architecture and to society. The AIA College of Fellows seeks to stimulate a sharing of interests among Fellows, promote the purposes of AIA, advance the profession of architecture, mentor young architects, and be of ever-increasing service to society. AIA Fellows are recognized with the AIA’s highest membership honor for their exceptional work and contributions to architecture and society. Architects who have made significant contributions to the profession and society and who exemplify architectural excellence can become a member of the AIA College of Fellows. Only 3% of the AIA members have this distinction.

It is wonderful to see our COF Component Grant recipients in action!
It was great to be in Raleigh to speak to the AIA Triangle mini-MBA about Human Resources and Legal aspects of architecture practice. Huge thanks to Shannon Robinson, AIA, NOMA and Sam Burner for the invitation to speak and for all their work in creating this new program for the chapter. This program was supported by an AIA College of Fellows component grant, and it was wonderful to see the excellent new resources that have been developed and shared with input from other AIA components who have developed similar business resources for architects. A big shoutout to my former AIA Strategic Council colleague John Horky, FAIA for collaborating with me on this session. It’s also wonderful to see the work AIA leaders are doing to support architects, the profession, and the broader community. It was great catching up with AIA friends Megan Bowles David Crawford to hear about their leadership of AIA North Carolina and with Joshua Thomasson, AIA to discuss his year as President of AIA Triangle. Special thanks to Je'Nen Chastain, MBA, Assoc. AIA for a fantastic tour of the city! #whyAIAmatters
