It was great seeing so many of you at the American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) PDC Summit last week and at AIA/AAH sessions and events. Some highlights include celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Student Design Challenge, hosting two tours, looking back on AAH's history and into the future at the Academy Update as we celebrate our 80th anniversary, four sunrise sessions, and more. #PDCSummit Thank you to all involved who made it successful! We're thrilled to announce the development of our new Professional Practice Toolkit. This new resource will empower healthcare stakeholders to create truly meaningful design solutions. This isn't just another toolkit; it's a catalyst for change, ensuring every space reflects the unique needs of the people it serves. Curious about the spark that ignited this movement? Relive the energy of our inaugural session from last December and see how it all began!

Do you know a rising star healthcare design? The AIA/AAH List of Healthcare Design’s Best Under 40 (U40 List) is designed to recognize emerging leaders and movers and shakers in the healthcare design industry who are advancing the creation of healing environments. It's also not limited to architects! Encourage an individual who will be UNDER 40 years of age to submit a nomination by April 1.

As Chair of the AIA AAH NextGen Committee, I had the incredible opportunity to moderate the session “Future Proofing Healthcare: Designing for Sustainability and Resiliency in a Changing Climate” at the ASHE PDC Summit alongside Kinjal Shah. It was an engaging and thought-provoking discussion on how we, as architects, engineers, and healthcare professionals, can proactively design resilient and sustainable environments that withstand the challenges of climate change, natural disasters and health crises. A huge thank you to everyone who attended, shared insights, and contributed to the conversation. A special thanks to our panelists Sammy Shams, Amit Bhansali, PE, PMP, CEM, BEMP and Gaurav Khadse for sharing their expertise and diverse perspectives on designing adaptable, future-ready healthcare spaces! Celebrating 10 terrific years of the PDC Student Design Challenge!
