On December 10th, Canton taxpayers voted to authorize funding for the William H. Galvin Middle School project - a new 218,350sf building for grades 5-8. This is a significant milestone contributing to the ultimate goal of a completed middle school by the Fall of 2028. Once completed, Galvin Middle School will be one of the largest middle schools in the Commonwealth. We look forward to continue collaborating with the Town of Canton, MA, Canton Public Schools, the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), the OPM (LeftField), and the Construction Manager (Consigli Construction Co., Inc.) as we move into the Design Development phase of the project in order to further plan, develop, and refine the programming and layout of the new school. Ai3 was recently invited to participate in J+J Flooring’s “Helping Hands” event, a holiday tree decorating event with the primary purpose of brightening the lives of children and their families spending the holidays at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Rhode Island this year. We divided up into teams and had so much fun planning and decorating seven different trees for the event, all of which we chose to decorate based on different children’s books: Winnie The Pooh, Wicked, Dragons Love Tacos, Harry Potter, Eric Carle (The Very Hungry Caterpillar), Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and Dr. Seuss (How the Grinch Stole Christmas). Some of us also had the privilege of attending the tree reveal event at Gillette Stadium, graciously hosted by J&J, where all 90 donated trees were entered into a design competition and judged based on the following categories: 1) Kids Choice, 2) Designer’s Choice, and 3) Best In Show / Grand Prize.?There were so many amazing trees revealed at the event, and we are grateful to have spent an incredibly enjoyable and memorable evening with colleagues and family. This proved to be such a wonderful opportunity for our team, and we look forward to participating in this event for years to come! Ai3's renovations to the Calcutt Middle School in Central Falls, RI were recently showcased by the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE). We worked closely with the Central Falls School District and RIDE to target renovations that enhance 21st Century learning skills by designing spaces that promote collaboration and hands-on learning opportunities.
"Our kids can't learn 21st century skills if they're not in 21st century buildings." As part of a historic statewide effort, RIDE and the Central Falls School District have been partnering to transform school buildings in Central Falls and improve students' learning experiences. At Calcutt Middle School, where chronic absenteeism has dropped by nearly 50%, students shared they're more excited to attend school with the recent upgrades supported by the state. Calcutt, which had box televisions in classrooms just a few months ago, now offers cutting-edge technology like smart boards and brand new sciences labs, gym, cafeteria, and maker space. WJAR-TV

On October 8, 2024, the City of Central Falls held a topping-off ceremony for the new 123,844sf Central Falls High School, which will serve 751 students in grades 9-12. This ceremony represents a momentous occasion in the ongoing construction of the new school, as it marks the placement of the final beam, which is a symbol of the amazing progress being made, and bears the signatures of the students, teachers, families, and community members who have contributed to this exciting new chapter for the City of Central Falls. It has been exciting to witness the building rise from the foundations and begin revealing its final form. The dedication of the Building Committee, the design team, students, teachers, and passionate City officials, whose participation prioritized community, equity, inclusion, and empowerment, all contributed to creating this incredible educational and public resource that is targeting certification as an NE-CHPS Verified Leader. Ai3 is thrilled to continue collaborating with the City, the School District, Rhode Island Department of Education, the OPM (Peregrine Group LLC), and the General Contractor (Brait Construction Managers) in making this beautiful new school come to life for the students, staff, and community of Central Falls, RI.
