    Global Health & eHealth | Digital solutions for Parkinson's disease

    We need your opinion on the use of an AI system for people at risk of developing Parkinson’s disease (PD), those already diagnosed with PD, and their healthcare professionals. This AI system aims to monitor and explain symptom fluctuations, make prognosis predictions, and optimize treatment responses. By answering this survey, you help us develop a tool that matches your needs. Your insights are invaluable to us as: *a relative to someone with PD or a person living with PD * or a healthcare professional working with PD patients The online survey consists of 5 different sections and will take around 15-20 minutes to complete. https://lnkd.in/eH7ynkQj

The AI-PROGNOSIS project coordinator, Prof Leontios Hadjileontiadis shared insights on the development of a smartphone-based tool to assess motor skills in Parkinson’s patients at the 2nd Healthy Longevity Symposium, held by Khalifa University?in Abu Dhabi on 21-22 November 2024. The presentation highlighted a key focus of AI-PROGNOSIS: the development of a smartphone-based tool, the Comprehensive Motor Function Test (CMFT), to assess motor skills in Parkinson’s disease patients. The goal is to integrate this tool into a mobile app to enhance patient care using advanced technology. The symposium brought together leading experts to discuss key topics related to longevity and aging, which are widely recognised as major contributors to many chronic diseases. The event highlighted the latest advancements in aging mechanisms, genomic precision medicine, rejuvenation strategies, and social health policies. Continuing our introduction of sister projects funded under the HORIZON-HLTH-2022-STAYHLTH-01-04 call, next is the "Artificial intelligence-based decision support system for risk stratification and early detection of heart failure in primary and secondary care (STARTIFYHF)"?project. ? STRATIFYHF EU Project aims to develop, validate and implement the first AI-based, decision support system (DSS) for risk stratification, early diagnosis, and disease progression assessment in heart gailure (HF) to accommodate both primary and secondary care clinical needs. The DSS will integrate patient-specific demographic and clinical data using existing and novel technologies and establish AI-based tools for risk stratification and HF prediction using machine learning.     NeuroconexiON: segunda edición. Hubo debate... Hablamos de la inteligencia artificial y las nuevas tecnologías aplicadas a la enfermedad de Parkinson en un encuentro con neurólogos jóvenes. Los avances en la investigación de machine learning, wearables y otros sensores continúan con el objetivo de mejorar la detección precoz de la enfermedad y la monitorizacion de su progresión y respuesta al tratamiento. Compartimos nuestro ambicioso proyecto europeo AI-PROGNOSIS formado por 18 equipos, entre los cuales hay centros clínicos como el nuestro del SERVICIO DE NEUROLOGIA Hospital Ruber Internacional y también de ingeniería, física, estadística y ética. Vamos a realizar tres ensayos clínicos y utilizaremos Machine Learning para desarrollar tres aplicaciones de móvil?? 1) para detectar el riesgo de desarrollar la enfermedad de Parkinson. 2) para monitorizar la progresión de la enfermedad y la respuesta al tratamiento de personas con Parkinson. 3) para que los profesionales de la salud puedan recibir información relevante para la toma de decisiones terapéuticas de sus pacientes con Parkinson. Tenemos los ojos puestos en la inteligencia artificial que nos está ayudando a saber más sobre la enfermedad de Parkinson. Son tiempos de esperanza para toda la comunidad de afectados y para los que nos dedicamos a intentar ayudarles. Patient recruitment has officially started at all study sites: CHU de Toulouse (France), King's College London (the UK), Fundación INCE (Iniciativa para las Neurociencias) (Spain), and Technische Universit?t Dresden (Germany). ???? As part of the AI-PROGNOSIS project, this study aims to develop digital biomarkers to track Parkinson’s disease (PD) symptoms, focusing on REM sleep behaviour disorder (RBD) and daytime sleepiness.?? Why is this important? RBD is a key early predictor of Parkinson’s disease. This study will track daily-life digital biomarkers from 90 participants across Germany, France, Spain and the UK, with the goal of improving PD detection and monitoring.???? This milestone brings us closer to better understanding and managing Parkinson’s disease. Currently, the app can only be used by participants enrolled in the study across Germany, France, Spain, and the UK. The dBM-DEV study is part of the AI-PROGNOSIS project and focuses on developing digital biomarkers (dBMs) for #Parkinson’s disease symptoms, particularly REM sleep behaviour disorder (RBD) and daytime sleepiness.
