I’ve been working on search technology-related projects for over a decade. I was fortunate to be surrounded by experts in search engine development, such as those at Elasticsearch, early in my career. Learning from their experiences is a quick way to gain knowledge. While hands-on experience is still essential, having a guiding framework is advantageous. There are alternative options if you don’t have access to knowledgeable individuals. I highly recommend the book AI Powered Search. Recently, we've been seeing a lot of interest in search services (probably because of RAG...), but there aren't many books or papers that summarize the trends in search services, especially recently. While most books on search services are solution descriptions, this book addressed the changes in the paradigm from a service perspective and taught me the essence of what constitutes a search service.
