We were honored to participate in a Bipartisan Senate AI Caucus briefing on AI & health last week. Kudos and thanks to the Bipsatisan Senate AI Caucus Co-Chairs Senator Martin Heinrich and Senator Mike Rounds and to Wasem Gawish, Claire E. Wengrod, Brittany Brignac, JD, MHA, and Rebecca Voglewede, PhD. Our Executive Director Cybil Gregory Roehrenbeck moderated an insightful and moving discussion by Mia Keeys, Hologic, Mintu Turakhia MD MS, iRhythm, Richard Milani, Sutter Health, and Shannon Curtis, AMA. Panelists considered how, as AI is increasingly adopted into clinical care, policymakers may think through issues like patient access to FDA-authorized AI medical services, safety, bias, and risk.
