Recently, Mike Giacco, Associate Vice President overseeing AIE's Technology and Information Technology Departments, presented to Columbia University's Global Leaders in Construction Management program on the AEC industry's use of technology in construction inspection, survey and mapping, and structure inspection. Tools like artificial intelligence, drones, and LiDAR scanners were discussed along with real-world use cases from AIE's own projects. The graduate students were highly engaged with thought-provoking questions on how they can utilize these cutting-edge technologies in their future careers. Yesterday, it was a thrill to attend the ACEC/MA Engineering and Public Works Roadshow in Milton, Massachusetts. Speakers highlighted the East Milton Square Reconstruction Project, addressing numerous community, local, and state needs. Event speakers from MassDOT, local state officials, and various consulting firms involved with the project were an absolute pleasure to hear from.
