For two nights, our residential team welcomed team members and residents to a Thanksgiving dinner to celebrate the holidays. It takes a formidable amount of planning and coordination to organize an event that seats and serves over 300 people. Yet they achieve it every year, leaving our residents with smiles and happy hearts. We are so grateful to this amazing team for everything they do to ensure our community members always feel at home and well cared for.

Twice a year, in November, the Residential Services team organizes Thanksgiving dinners for the hundreds of people who are supported in our agency homes. This year's events took place at the Sterling in Bethpage on November 14 and 21. A decades-long tradition, this event is one that residents and staff look forward to. It's an occasion for attendees to wear their finest attire, catch up with friends and colleagues, and enjoy singing, dancing, and a traditional Thanksgiving feast with some of their favorite holiday dishes. Thank you to our residential team for your dedication to our community. Events like these demonstrate your passion and commitment to benefiting the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The men and women who benefit from Day Services in Hicksville took part in a wonderful Friendsgiving lunch recently. Everyone dressed up in cozy fall colors to share a meal. This was not only a thoughtful community-building activity but also an opportunity to deepen bonds outside of a family setting.

We had a wonderful time at our Grateful Gathering celebration in Freeport. It was a pleasure to see everyone expressing joy through camaraderie and friendship. We are so thankful to our amazing staff for showing up daily and sharing their joyful spirit with the people we support. We wish everyone a happy holiday season. Citizens Options Unlimited

Our Plainview team enjoyed a wonderful spread with fantastic food, great company, and plenty of activities during their Grateful Gathering celebration. It is truly amazing to cultivate friendships and develop strong bonds with the people you work alongside to do such meaningful work. It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Paul Cullen on November 20. An original in every sense, Paul dedicated over 40 years to AHRC Nassau, serving as the Director of Camp Loyaltown from 1979 until his retirement in 2015. His passion for his work was unparalleled. Paul shared his love of nature, brought joy to countless lives, and inspired everyone around him to see and believe that everything was possible. The men and women who receive day services with us build strong bonds with the members of their community. People in day services locations in Levittown, Hicksville, Jericho, Farmingdale, and Plainview have been working on holiday cards for law enforcement officers struggling with mental health.
