The Bridgeport Islanders and Connecticut Lottery Corporation are honored to announce the recipient of this year's All-Star Educator Award, Tina Marsan. Tina currently teaches American Sign Language at Fairfield Warde High School but has spent over two decades shaping the future of students, especially those with unique needs. She has worked tirelessly to support and inspire students in both public and private schools. Beyond the classroom, she has volunteered her time in the community, helping organize programs that promote inclusion and understanding for all children. Today, Storm made a special surprise for Tina and her class at Fairfield Warde High School to celebrate this achievement and to thank Tina for all her years dedicated to education.

Today, the Bridgeport Islanders front office team volunteered their time at Dress for Success Mid-Fairfield County, assisting in organizing donated clothing items. Dress for Success empowers unemployed and underemployed women by providing professional attire and development tools to help them achieve economic independence.

The Bridgeport Islanders, Total Mortgage Arena, and Sodexo Live! are happy to announce our next part-time employee spotlight—Sue Livingston! Sue is part of the event staff and works a variety of events with the Bridgeport Islanders and Total Mortgage Arena. Her supervisor, Jimmy Meszoros, believes that Sue is an "outstanding member of their team" here at Total Mortgage Arena. Join us in thanking Sue for all the hard work and dedication she brings to our team!

Tonight marked the conclusion of our Women in Sports Job Shadow Program, where participants had the chance to experience the behind-the-scenes action of Storm’s birthday celebration. A big thank you to all the shadows who joined us and to the mentors who guided them along the way.

The Bridgeport Islanders, Total Mortgage Arena, and Sodexo Live! are excited to announce our part-time employee spotlight—Michael Guthrie! Mike joined our team this season as our gameday and community performer. His supervisors, Megan Hopton, M.S., and Haley Castellari, have expressed that Mike is "an incredible asset to this team and never fails to bring a smile to everyone's face." During All-Star Weekend, the Bridgeport Islanders hosted their annual youth hockey jamboree—a day full of smiles, sportsmanship, and hockey for all our youth players. Thank you to all the players, coaches, staff, and families who joined us!

The Bridgeport Islanders, Total Mortgage Arena, and Sodexo Live! are excited to announce December's part-time employee spotlight—Michaela Kraut. Michaela joined our marketing department this season as our community relations intern. Her manager, Haley Castellari, has expressed that "Michaela is passionate in her role, and it clearly shows. The Bridgeport Islanders and Total Mortgage Arena are excited to announce that our Women in Sports Job Shadow Program is back for the 2024-25 season! The Women in Sports Job Shadow Program provides young women with a unique opportunity to explore careers in the sports industry. Participants will shadow female employees, gaining valuable mentorship and hands-on experience in gameday operations. This program is designed to empower the next generation of women in sports by offering career insights, fostering professional growth, and encouraging a more diverse industry.
