While it’s meant to cut wasteful spending (up to $1.9 trillion!), it often delays care and adds administrative headaches. In 2024, 94% of doctors reported delays, with some patients even abandoning treatment. Reforms like Georgia’s Senate Bill 80 and Vermont’s House Resolution 766 are steps toward transparency and faster approvals. ?? BIG WIN for transgender health care: A federal judge has extended the nationwide block on the executive order that threatened to cut funding for providers offering gender-affirming care to minors. This ruling recognizes the irreparable harm the policy could cause, keeping essential care available while legal battles continue. Families, advocacy groups, and medical experts have fought back, arguing that denying gender-affirming care increases the risks of depression and suicide among trans youth. Meanwhile, another judge has blocked the order in four states, and the administration is expected to appeal. The fight isn’t over—access to gender-affirming care remains under attack. ?
