I've discovered this cool SICK Sensor Intelligence tool and wish to share it with you. (link in the first comment ??) Can we say "Cool Tool"? anyway.... Here’s the thing: most B2B marketing is just a collection of spec sheets pretending to be storytelling. ?????? This chart is self-explaining. ---- Here’s a fact: When mobile robots are compared to traditional forklifts, the first thing people see is the price tag.?? And, oh yes! does that number get all the attention. ?? ?? ?????????????????? ???? ?? ???????????? ???? ?????? ?????? ??????????, 66% of them believe that "higher initial investment" is the biggest drawback of mobile robots. ?? ????????????????: ?????? ?????? ???????????? ???????? ?? ???????????????? ????????????????????? yes or not... it would be great to know your experience in the comments. The other 34%? Well, they had other concerns like safety, process modifications, and flexibility. But let’s focus on the big one for a second. ???????? ????????? ???????????????? ???? ????????? A manual forklift that requires a driver for every shift? A full-time operator who needs salary, training, benefits, and breaks? Or maybe compared to the cost of accidents, damages, and downtime? ?? ???? ????????: We Still Have to Inform the Market about the real economics behind AGVs/AMRs.... there's a huge job to do. ?? ??????’?? ???? ????????????... "???????? & ????????"! ??. ?A badly integrated AMR can lead to delays, inefficiencies, and even accidents. ???? ?????? ??????????? ---- AMR suppliers love to say their mobile robots are easy to install, commission, and modify in the future. ?? Just map the area, assign some tasks, and voilà—???????????????????? ??????????! Well... until you actually try to integrate them into a real logistics or production flow. That’s when things start to get interesting.?? ?? Mapping a factory? Easy. ?? Making the AMR interact with machines, conveyors, and operators? Welcome to the fun part. ???? Really simple examples: ?? ???????????? ?? ???????????? ???????? ?? ?????????????????You need a handshake (logic, protocol, timing). ?? ?????????????? ?? ???????????? ???? ?? ?????????? ????????????? Which line? Which position? Is it occupied? ?? ?????????????? ?? ?????????? ?????????????????? ???????? ?????????????? ??????????? How do you "call" the AMR? Are there safety barriers? Yes, installing mobile robots has become easier, but not as much as suppliers claim. ????♂? AMRs need proper and safe integration, smart logic, and—most importantly—a reality check. The verdict is clear: integration, and support challenges are still keeping low-cost AGV suppliers from taking over the US/EU. ??♂?... I say "still"... ???????????? ???????????? ?????? ?????? ???????? ?????? ????????????... ????????'?? ?????? ???????????????????? Here’s the breakdown: ?? 30.77% - ???????????????? & ?????????????????????? ???????????????????? Many LCC suppliers still lack proper integration capabilities, they must rely on local distrubutors... that still do not fully trust long term support and are afraid of not being independent and able to fully integrate thw robots. ?? 20.51% - ?????????? ?????????? & ????????-???????? ?????????????? mobile robots should run for years, not just for a quick ROI calculation. Without reliable spare parts and service, downtime becomes a major risk. Specially for integrators that are the "face" in front of the customer. ?? 17.95% - ???????????????????? & ???????????? ?????????????????? Western markets demand CE, UL, ANSI, ISO 3691-4, etc, compliance. Without these... in case of accident, integrators could have huge problems. ?? 15.38% - ???????? ???? ?????????? ???? ?????????????? & ?????????????????????? Durability and uptime are key. This low percentage indicates that integrators rely on the hardware.... the problem is the service. ?? 12.82% - ???????????????????????? & ???????????? ?????????? ?????????? Integrators can't change supplier every year, thy need long-term stability. Supply chain disruptions, bans, taxes.... could destroy a business model. ?? Only 2.6% think LCC suppliers are already competitive and reliable. ?? Who is actually buying low-cost AGVs? LCC suppliers do find their way into ?????? ???????????? ???????????????? where they can sell directly with their own resources. They thrive in industries that need simple, standardized machines with minimal customization. For small and mid-sized integrators, however, the situation is different. ?? It seems that managing a supplier 6-7 time zones away—with potential delays, language barriers, and unclear responsibility for integration—can quickly become a major risk. The question? ????
