Interesting article from friends Better Food Ventures' Portfolio company DecisionNext about how #AI can support #cognition in particular with Business Decision support in a more impactful manner. Looking at this as the next point in business decision making evolution, where we shifted from instinct to more data driven approaches powered by things like dashboards to where we are now heading around cognition where observed and contextual information can be combined begins to unlock a number of promising opportunities. Its an interest interview that opens are aperture beyond #AgriFood. WE often fall into the troupe of the uniqueness of Ag, true, but its not the only unique industry and there are many lessons to learn from other sectors that can help inform what we build, accelerating our refinement to value/impact.

With so many new community members we would like to re-share and remind folks that earlier this year we put together the first #Quarterly in #AgTech (at least we think so) mirroring the #McKinseyQuarterly. The quarterly features contributions from 12 authors, who span the globe, the ecosystem, and the value chain sharing insights that can be informative regardless of personal focus. With the intent this information can help lift our collective understanding (hopefully). The Quarterly is structured around the theme of startups, where is opportunity and how to capture it via contributions from Janette Barnard, Walt Duflock Ashley Sweeting, J. Matthew Pryor, Hollis Robbins, Sachi Desai, Ariel Patton, Shane Thomas, Patrick Honcoop, Rhishi P., Dan Schultz, and Tim Hammerich. We are very appreciative of the opportunity to do this and have received a lot of positive feedback since the original publishing encouraging us (while the title implied another quarterly, encouragement was helpful) to do another Quarterly that will be released March 31st give or take a few days. The upcoming Quarterly will be focused on AI and Autonomy but there is flexibility to help bring together the best thoughts and insights we can.
