Our crews are using every available resource to assist with safe and efficient restoration following Hurricane Helene. We’ve utilized drones throughout the restoration process to assess damage in the hardest hit areas- but we are also using them to transfer materials. In this video you can see a drone pulling material across standing water, helping our crews push forward in restoration. As of October 7, we have safely restored power to more than 1.5 million people, or 99% percent of all impacted customers, following the storm. Helene spared virtually no part of the state and severely impacted areas such as Augusta, Savannah, Valdosta and many other communities. We are continuing to work with the same passion to get the remaining 1% impacted the energy that they need. Thank you and please continue to stay safe.

As our Helene restoration efforts continue across the state, our crews are continuing to work through devastated areas using every method possible. In some cases we have to use boats and helicopters to access transmission lines and damaged infrastructure - check out the vegetation management team working with crews in boats navigating a flooded right of way. The damage has been extreme in the hardest hit areas - and we have 20,000+ team members working right now on restoration. When we say we’re doing everything we can to get the lights back on, we mean it. By water, by land and by air. Thank you and stay safe.

Since conditions became safe to enter the field, our crews have been working around the clock to restore power in the wake of Hurricane Helene – the most destructive hurricane in the Georgia Power’s history. As of Tuesday afternoon, we have grown our storm response to 20,000 personnel and have restored over 1 million customers. We currently still have approximately 278,000 customers without power- and we are not slowing down our response. We will have boots on the ground, and in the bucket, working all hands on deck to get the power restored. We are grateful of your support during this time and are proud to serve Georgians.

In some of the hardest hit areas across the state, including Augusta and South Georgia, we are seeing catastrophic destruction of our infrastructure - rebuilding the power grid and not just repairing. We are continuing to work around the clock to restore power for our customers quickly and safely. Know that the team is all hands on deck and we will not stop working until every person who can be restored, is restored. Please continue to stay safe and thank you.

When we say that every resource is deployed- we are talking about line crews, mutual assistance, fleet crews, damage assessors, logistics, drone pilots, helicopters, and every member of our team. We utilize helicopters to assess damage, clear debris, and cut tress. This tool is used to help clear transmission lines, some of which were damaged by the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene. Our team is boots on the ground, in the bucket, and in the sky working around the clock to get your lights on.

It’s Monday morning and as the sun comes up our crews are still working. Our multiday restoration efforts continued overnight across the state after?#Helene?caused catastrophic damage. Historic flooding, downed trees and road closures are impeding efforts to restore power – particularly in South Georgia and Augusta, where outages are most prevalent. Through the work of mutual assistance crews, our team members who are in personal cars getting from A to B, and hard at work line crews, know that even if you do not see our logo, we are still at work in your area. We are continuing to work around the clock to restore power for our customers quickly and safely. For the latest on our restoration efforts, visit georgiapower.com/storm. Please continue to stay safe and thank you.
