SDR is best first job ever. -Top performers can make $100k+ -Your income can more than DOUBLE in a couple years when promoted -You get to master the hardest part of the sales cycle -You get a realistic understanding of what works at the top of the funnel -You have a lot of optionality for future customer-facing roles -You get tough. Another one that has become extra clear to me recently is how much it prepares you for entrepreneurial endeavors. Creating new opportunities out of nothing is the most valuable skill you can have.

It was so fun to spend time at Canlis with some of our Seattle SDRLeader.com members! Almost every major SaaS company in Seattle was represented. And as always, there were such great people and great discussion for the current state of sales development. It's always was awesome to hear the best top-of-funnel minds. One of my Fortune 100 clients texted me this yesterday. A 675% increase! In our session the other day I suggested A/B testing a reply email that simply sounded like how a normal person would follow up with an ignored email. The other email didn’t look bad! It followed a lot of common and popular advice about sales copywriting. But almost always, when people test this, they notice that a shorter, simpler, email that draws attention to the original outperforms in A/B tests. Most importantly, the quality of responses are much better! Since prospecting is a 1:1 interaction, there are advantages to writing like a 1:1 interaction. Try it out ;)

So great to spend time with our SDRLeader.com members in Chicago last week! A lot of good discussion about cold calls and tips for managing call reluctance and boldness in the phone. Ken Amar was the highest performing SDR I had ever seen. Despite no prior experience, he had the strongest first, second, and third months in company history. Then beat (smashed) the seemingly unbeatable all-time record the following month. And then… Beat his own record the month after that. He was a freak! And nobody applied the Agoge frameworks better than Ken. I quickly promoted him to manager where he proved to be an even better manager than he was a rep. -- Fast-forward a few years.
