We’re supporting The Salvation Army Australia’s Light the Way campaign, helping those doing it tough this festive season. This is our third year supporting the Salvo’s as they aim to brighten the lives of disadvantage families. Our $100,000 donation will go towards providing gift cards to the local Bayswater and Loy Yang communities and contribute to paying household bills for families who seek Salvos services.

It was incredible to see the turnout of more than 30,000 visitors to our booth at the Sydney International EV Autoshow over the weekend. As part of the exhibition, we had several experts share their unique insights into the electrification of transport, with keynotes delivered by Jeremy Brook, our Head of Home Transition, on the importance of empowering customers to switch to an all-electric home and Mabelle Reyes, our Head of E-Mobility, on how we are driving the uptake of EVs through private and public charging infrastructure. Amelia P., our Product Owner EV charging, joined panellists on a deep dive into EV charging and batteries and Natasha Menon, our Fleet Strategy Manager, joined an all-women panel in providing their perspectives into how women are shaping the design, development, and marketing of EVs to encourage greater uptake. Our team was particularly inspired by the enthusiasm, energy and keen interest of the attendees to learn more about how we are supporting our customers to electrify the way they live, move and work.? ? #EV #Electrification?#SydneyEVShow

Flexible working at AGL is about providing supportive arrangements for our team members that reflect our different operating environments and individual circumstances. For Daniel Jones, our Senior Corporate Lawyer, working flexibly allows him to be the best dad he can be. “I have strong support from my supervisors and work in a team where other parents have taken parental leave, worked part time or worked flexibly in the past (or continue to do so). I can’t imagine working in a role where I saw less of my girls.” #DiversityAndInclusion #PoweringAustralianLife

We’re thrilled to have been recognised as a finalist in the Wellbeing, Health and Safety category of The Australian Financial Review (AFR)s’ Energy Awards this week. Our nominated submission recognises the important role drones play in reducing risks and improving safety outcomes by eliminating the need for people to perform high risk tasks, such as working in confined spaces and at heights. We spoke to Matthew Lee, our Chief Drone Pilot and Engineer of Drones and Robotic Technology on how drones are improving safety across our operational sites. #Safety #Drones #Technology

We’re proud to be working with the great team at Someva Renewables and the Riverina community on the Pottinger Energy Park. Once completed, the park will generate up to 1,200 MW of clean, affordable and reliable energy – enough to power up to 830,000 Australian homes.

Someva Renewables is excited to share that we recently submitted our Response to Submissions for the proposed Pottinger Energy Park – a joint venture with AGL. It has been wonderful to hear the views of the Riverina community and to understand the values and initiatives they support in this project, including the strong backing for Australian-owned projects. We are also pleased to have received no local objections within 20km of the project. Our commitment to co-designing the project with the community is highlighted in our Environmental Impact Statement and Response to Submissions. Careful refinements to the project layout have been made to protect local biodiversity, such as the Plains-wanderer. In September, we also completed 24-months of bird and bat data collection, which will inform our Bird and Bat Adaptive Management Plan. Someva?and AGL are also proud to have worked with the community and industry to co-design a range of benefits sharing initiatives as part of the Pottinger Energy Park project. Our commitments include: ?? A dedicated First Nations Fund ?? An AGL Energy Offer providing competitive energy plans to locals to reduce cost of living pressures ?? A $500,000 Development Fund to support First Nations groups, project neighbours and community groups (including Deniliquin Local Aboriginal Land Council, Yarkuwa Indigenous Knowledge Centre, RFS Mid Murray, RFS MIA District, Boorboorban Social Club, Giz a Break and Hay Inc) ?? Supporting supplier capacity building in the Riverina via tender readiness workshops for local businesses with the Industry Capability Network ?? Providing apprenticeship training and development support ?? Supporting tertiary renewable energy industry training through the proposed Country Universities Centres for Southern Riverina and TAFE NSW campuses ?? Delivering an Agribusiness Uplift Program to help farmers decarbonise their properties and improve sustainability As we move into the final assessment phase with the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, we will continue to keep the community updated. We’re celebrating the valued carers in our lives this National Carers Week. We spoke to Marc Hettler, our WA Renewables Portfolio Manager, about the time he took paid parental leave to care for his son. “The ability to take 20 weeks paid parental leave along with annual leave created a win–win situation. My wife could pursue an opportunity to work as one of two doctors, travelling to remote and Indigenous communities, providing ophthalmology services, all while I had a great time bonding with my son, Bastian.” Mark and his family travelled 20,000 kilometres over 12 months, visiting some of the most beautiful parts of Western Australia. #NationalCarersWeek #Diversity #Inclusion
