#HubintheNews ?? Check out a recent article featuring insights from Dr. Lauren Snedeker, DSW, LSW, Director of the Aging & Health Certificate program at the Rutgers School of Social Work, in the Toms River Times: Micromedia Publications, Inc. Dr. Snedeker shares valuable perspectives on the delicate conversation around driving in later life, highlighting how ageism can negatively impact these discussions. She encourages families and caregivers to approach this topic with empathy and sensitivity and to consider involving a trusted professional, like a healthcare provider or social worker, for additional support. As Dr. Snedeker puts it, “[Driving is] a symbol of independence. It’s important that people don’t feel punished for aging or for not being able to function as they once did.” Read the full article at: https://lnkd.in/ea_tj3RG #SocialWork #AgingAndHealth #RutgersSSW #RutgersPride #AgeismAwareness
