All over the world, people over 60 are the fastest growing age group, and the number of older people who are no longer able to look after themselves is forecasted to quadruple by 2050. This is especially true in the New England states, where quality of life and excellent health care bring many for the summer months, and their post-retirement years. As older adults lose their ability to live independently because of physical or mental changes, elders and their families need guidance navigating care needs and finding resources. This is what Aging Life Care Professionals? or geriatric care managers do best. The New England Chapter of the Aging Life Care Association? (formerly National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers) serves clients on a fee-for-service basis throughout the Northeast United States including, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Knowing where to turn can have an enormous impact on improving the independence and active living of the senior adult.
