As the IT Manager of the Old Course Hotel, I have always been passionate about the potential of mobile technology to transform the hospitality industry. In an era where efficiency and customer satisfaction are paramount, I believe that integrating mobile solutions can significantly enhance our operations while retaining our commitment to 5-star service. ? Restaurants, especially those in busy environments like ours, require streamlined processes to manage food and drink orders effectively. The traditional methods can often lead to delays and miscommunication, which ultimately impacts service quality. This is where mobile technology comes into play, allowing us to enhance our service delivery without compromising the high standards our guests expect. ? Over the past few months, we have been experimenting with mobile devices in our restaurants, particularly at the renowned famous Jigger Inn. The goal is to implement a mobile device solution that allows our staff to take orders directly at the table, reducing wait times and improving accuracy. The technology we are utilising is provided by a global leader in hospitality tech, Agilysys, through their Infogenesis POS system. Infogenesis has come a long way over the years, and their continued support and commitment to mobile solutions have been instrumental in helping us move forward. ? The initial results have been promising, and I am excited about the potential this technology holds for overhauling our speed of service. What has truly been rewarding is witnessing our team at the Jigger Inn embrace these devices. Their feedback has been invaluable in refining our approach and ensuring that the technology meets their needs. It’s gratifying to see how they are adapting to this new way of working and how it is positively impacting their interactions with guests. The insights they provide help us identify areas for improvement, ensuring that we are not just implementing technology for the sake of it, but rather enhancing our service delivery. ? As I celebrate my 7th year with the Old Course Hotel this week, I reflect on how far we’ve come and the exciting journey ahead.
