A well-written article by Jason Del Rey. We see our work as creating more options for humanity. You might love and choose to do hard physical work, but when you don't or can't... that's where Digit takes over.

We've got legs, and we know how to use them! The legs vs wheels debate has raged for many years. To us, legs are core to performing valuable work for our customers. They allow us to maximize reach while maintaining a very small footprint. They also help us get into unique positions and places that require a loco-manipulation approach. More importantly, they keep us on a trajectory for quickly developing new skills, entering new markets, and working in increasingly unpredictable environments. The world needs robots with legs and others with wheels, robots that climb, some that fly, swim, dig, and everything in between.

This recent ARK report projects a roughly $24 trillion revenue opportunity for humanoid robots. The details of the estimate can be debated, but we can all agree that the market potential is very large. We are converting that potential into reality. The partnership with Ricoh, which we announced earlier this week, is a great example of our focus on building an enterprise-hardened solution. It enhances the field support and service that we provide to our customers.

We've added another expert to our partner ecosystem, expanding and enhancing our field service capability.

In this corner of the distribution flow, Digit takes totes full of orders from an AMR and loads them onto a conveyor. They then go downstream to be packed and shipped. Sometimes, those stations are backed up or shut down for shift changes, breaks, etc... Instead of sitting idle and creating a backlog in the AMR system, Digit will stack those totes off to the side. Then, when the conveyor is running again, Digit will clear the stack and return to normal loading and unloading. That ability to adapt to varying conditions and remain productive is one of the key benefits of a humanoid robot.
