AgeSpan is excited to announce a partnership with the Westford Council on Aging and FISCO (Friends of Indian Senior Citizens Organization) to combat isolation and create a welcoming space for older adults in Westford and nearby communities. To kick off this collaboration, FISCO hosted a vibrant Diwali celebration at its new location in the Cameron Senior Center in Westford. The event featured a warm welcome, cultural performances like classical dance, and a spiritual recitation that added a meditative touch to the festivities. Guests also enjoyed a delicious lunch, fostering a strong sense of community. This partnership is focused on improving the quality of life for Asian older adults by offering opportunities for connection and socialization. A typical day starts out with a review of e-mails and missed phone calls. After taking care of any needs there, I then enter visit information into A&D if I have any to enter. In the late morning/early afternoon I either schedule visits or conduct visits. I utilize the remaining time taking care of new e-mail requests and telephone calls. ???????? ???? ?????? ???????? ???????? ???? ???????? ??????? The best part of my job is spending time visiting my elders. I enjoy hearing their stories and catching up on the previous 6 months since the last visit. ???????? ?????????????????????????? ???????? ???????????? ?????? ?????????????? ???? ???????? ???????????? ?????????? ???? ??????????????? In my two years here, I have taken full advantage of the knowledge and experience that my colleagues are able to share with me. Additionally, I have had two outstanding managers who don’t mind answering my myriads of questions. ???????? ???????? #???????????????????????? ???????? ???? ??????? To me, healthy aging means having the resources, opportunities, and influences that allow an aging adult to maintain a productive lifestyle as best they can and in the way they wish it to be. Today marks National Information and Referral (I&R) Day, and we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible work of our AgeSpan specialists who are making a real difference across the Merrimack Valley and North Shore communities. Every day, they go above and beyond, not only offering vital information and resources but also providing a compassionate, supportive ear to those who are navigating tough times. Whether someone is in crisis or simply needs guidance, our I&R team is there—connecting individuals with the services they need to maintain their independence, health, safety, and quality of life. In the last fiscal year alone, our dedicated team answered an astounding 24,289 calls, and made 16,236 referrals, ensuring that older adults in our community have access to the right care and support at the right time. Thank you to our I&R specialists for their unwavering commitment and for being a lifeline to so many!

In his new role, Rich will lead the agency’s visibility and communications efforts, with focus on growing awareness of our programs, services, and partnerships.
