Get to know our Secretary! Amanda Shoop started on the South Dakota Chapter Executive Committee in 2021 as the secretary and has continued in this role! Amanda was born and raised in Pierre and came back to Pierre In January 2018 after graduating from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and minors in Accounting and Dance. Amanda started her career in state government at the Division of Banking and soon found her love at the Department of Health! In her free time, she is running after her two daughters with her husband, Colton, or enjoying time with all her nieces and nephews! They often find themselves elbow deep in crafts, on walks at the Gulch, or a park around town. Amanda's favorite thing about AGA is the networking.?She said "I have been able to meet many state employees I email with on a daily basis and following different speakers social media for professional tidbits." ?

Members, The South Dakota AGA Chapter is seeking applicants for our academic scholarships! The primary directive of the AGA is to advance government accountability. Your chapter officers work hard to support accountability in every way we can. Our scholarship program seeks to support our chapter members who are advancing their skills academically. We are pleased to announce that the chapter is offering two academic scholarships of $500 to our chapter members enrolled in courses that advance their skills in government accountability. This scholarship may be used for tuition, textbooks, or expenses directly related to your course of study. We hope that this flexibility will allow the scholarship to support your study in ways that other scholarships and financial aid may not. To apply, complete the attached application, along with the application requirements. Your application must be submitted to [email protected] and [email protected]. The deadline for submission is March 29, 2024. The scholarships will be awarded at the PDC held in Ft. Pierre on April 10 – 11, 2024. Recipients will be notified prior to the event. Please contact us with any questions.?
