Leadership Growth at Afton Scientific? On November 4th, 2024, we hosted our third monthly Leadership Roundtable for the Production Department at Afton Scientific, LLC. With nine leaders in attendance, this Lunch & Learn meeting was an opportunity to share a meal, promote a culture of leadership, and address key departmental topics. This roundtable focused on a powerful leadership principle from John Maxwell's?High Road Leadership?—?"Don’t Keep Score."?After a 15-minute presentation by yours truly, the discussion was led by our Production Manager, Andrew Williams. Here's a quick recap of the key takeaways: 1??High Road vs. Low Road Leadership Low-road leaders keep score, always expecting something in return from every interaction, often creating a sense of guilt or unfairness. High-road leaders, in contrast, give without expectations, lifting others and adding value simply because it's the right thing to do. 2??The Power of Humility Humility is at the core of High Road leadership. It’s about treating others better than they treat you and fostering an environment where collaboration and mutual respect thrive. 3?. Forgiveness is Key High Road leaders understand that forgiveness is not about "keeping score" but about "losing count." It’s about letting go of grudges and focusing on growth and positive outcomes. 4??Leaders Focus on Adding Value High Road leaders are always looking for ways to add value and give back, rather than taking or keeping tabs.
