It’s Youth Voice Week! We’re kicking it off by highlighting an incredible project from our Youth Advocacy Team (YAS)! They returned to their former elementary schools to present on MLK Day and the power of mentorship, inspiring the next generation of leaders. As part of their visit, they asked fifth graders to write down their dreams for the future—and the responses were inspiring. Our youth WILL change the world, and we couldn’t be prouder of the YAS team for leading this powerful activity! BREAKING: Today, the Trump Administration issued an Executive Order asking the Secretary of Education to take steps to close the U.S. Department of Education. Dismantling the Department would be a complex process, and federal support for local afterschool and summer programs will be impacted. However, major sources of funding are mandated by law and therefore not under the order for immediate elimination.
