The Department of the Air Force’s desire to utilize Additive Manufacturing (AM) for flight-critical components necessitates the rigorous qualification of vendors. The RSO Advanced Manufacturing Program Office (AMPO) is gathering information to evaluate vendor capability of meeting the United States Air Force's potential need. A presolicitation is now open for white papers that provide processes and procedures to qualify AM vendors for parts with airworthiness considerations. Introducing a community of innovation – the RSO’s Advanced Manufacturing (AdvM) Innovation Hub, developed in partnership with University of Dayton Research Institute. This Air Force Cloud One based solution promotes the use of AdvM technologies across the United States Air Force by enabling Airmen to collaborate and share AdvM projects that are not governed by cognizant engineering authorities, such as tools, fixtures, and jigs, as well as training aides, quality of life items for those deployed, and other miscellaneous items. The AdvM Innovation Hub allows users to: ·????????Design, upload, and interact with projects ·????????Access featured content ·????????Engage with relevant personalized information ·????????Interact with the AdvM community “The AdvM Innovation Hub’s deployment to Cloud One is an important step in realizing key objectives in the Department of Defense and U.S. Air Force Additive Manufacturing Strategy,” said Dan Dismuke, RSO Digital Enabler Program Manager.?“It enables Airmen and Guardians to create communities, innovate, and collaborate on additive (3D printed) projects.?For example, a great idea for a flightline tool developed by a maintenance wing at one base can be shared with others Air Force-wide, thereby multiplying the original idea’s value, sharing knowledge, and potentially spawning new ideas or improvements. The RSO’s AGORA digital ecosystem is now live on Air Force Cloud One and open for all the United States Air Force's advanced manufacturing Digital Materiel Management (DMM) needs! AGORA, or Always Guaranteeing Operationally Ready Aircraft, is a revolutionary suite of DMM applications enabling the use of advanced manufacturing and repair solutions to resolve Air Force supply chain challenges, maximizing aircraft operational readiness. “AGORA’s deployment to Cloud One is a cornerstone in the Department of Defense and U.S. Air Force Digital Modernization Strategy and the transition to a globally distributed supply chain”, said Dan Dismuke, RSO Digital Enabler Program Manager.?“It enables adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies and collaboration across organizational and geographic boundaries, and it grants program offices access to data and tools to target supply chain challenges impacting the operational readiness of aircraft while transitioning from legacy technical data to all ‘digital’ technical data.” AGORA offers users four DMM capabilities: 1.?SEEKR provides the ability to sift through aircraft part and supply chain planning to identify parts that most negatively impact an aircraft’s readiness then assesses the technical feasibility of using advanced manufacturing and repair technologies to resolve the challenges. 2.?An automated workflow function provides the capability to generate new Engineering Service Requests and manage their routing, tracking, and approvals. 3.?Teamcenter, a Product Lifecycle Management solution, provides a centralized platform to streamline design and development processes, enable collaboration, and control versioning of requirements and artifacts. 4.??A Manufacturing Capability View provides users with the ability to search and identify key advanced manufacturing and repair capabilities across the globe.
