The 16th Conference of the Parties (COP16) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) recently took place, bringing together world leaders, policymakers, and advocates to discuss critical issues surrounding biodiversity and sustainable development. This year’s conference focused on strategies to halt biodiversity loss and promote conservation efforts globally. I had the incredible opportunity to represent Sudan as part of the official delegation at COP16. As the only youth member, I was actively involved in high-level discussions and negotiations, contributing to the drafting of Sudan’s speech for the high-level segment. My experience reinforced my belief that young people are vital agents of change in advocating for sustainability and connecting policy-making with grassroots initiatives. ????
