关于我们
Africa Windmill Project mission is to End Hunger and achieve Food Security by teaching irrigation and sustainable agriculture methods to families in Malawi. Africa Windmill Project works with small holder farmers to organize and self-operate agriculture clubs. Through these clubs families are able to receive four years of training to teach irrigation and sustainable agriculture methods, community development, farm management, and financial management. March marks the transition from Malawi's rainy season to the drier months. While the rains may still fall sporadically, farmers know this is the time to prepare for the challenges ahead. At Africa Windmill Project, we work with farmers to turn this seasonal shift into an opportunity. By harnessing irrigation systems like windmills and rope-and-washer pumps, farmers can store and use water efficiently to sustain their crops during the dry season. This preparation ensures food security, boosts productivity, and reduces the risks posed by changing weather patterns. Deborah Chakudza: Thriving in 2025 Last year, we shared Deborah’s inspiring story of transformation through sustainable irrigation farming in Nyanda Village. With the help of Africa Windmill Project, she turned her garden into a reliable food source for her family. Now, in 2025, Deborah’s journey continues to inspire us all. She shares, “Hunger is now a thing of the past. I can harvest various crops multiple times a year from my garden.” Her continued success is a powerful reminder of what’s possible with the right training and tools. As we enter the rainy season, learn how windmills complement natural rainfall, preventing waterlogging and maximizing crop yield. This technology helps maintain water supply throughout the year, protecting farmers from uncertainty and boosting food security. Through the Africa windmill project, farmers have access to windmills that power their farming to the next level by providing a sustainable solution. #BoostingFoodSecurity #AfricaWindmillProject #SustainableFarming https://buff.ly/42cvQ3v

February is one of the wettest months in Malawi, with abundant rainfall nourishing the land. For farmers, this is a time of opportunity but also a challenge. While rainwater replenishes the soil, it doesn't always provide consistent access to water for crops throughout the year. This is where innovative irrigation solutions like windmills come in. By storing and managing water efficiently during the rainy season, farmers can prepare for the drier months ahead, ensuring their crops thrive year-round. At Africa Windmill Project, we empower farmers to make the most of the rainy season through sustainable irrigation practices. With tools like windmills, rope-and-washer pumps, and basin irrigation techniques, farmers are not just surviving—they’re thriving, rain or shine. #SustainableFarming #IrrigationSolutions #RainySeason #AfricaWindmillProject
