??Today we’re shining the spotlight on Yellow Bluff, AL Mayor Michael Gordon for his visionary leadership! Since taking office in 2020, he’s been driven by a passion for community progress. Inspired by the town’s potential, Mayor Gordon focuses on improving housing, enhancing the sewage system, and boosting local income. Before becoming Mayor, Gordon earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from A&M University and built a successful career as an engineer. He later returned to his hometown, Snow Hill, AL, to manage his family farm and launch his own trucking and recovery business. His vision is to create a future that inspires the next generation to return and call Yellow Bluff home.?#OurMayorMondays?#OurMayors

? Join us in honoring Tuskegee, AL Mayor Lawrence "Tony" Haygood, Jr. Since being elected in 2016, he’s prioritized economic growth, infrastructure, and community engagement. His leadership has spurred business development, improved public safety with new police leadership in 2024, and explored ways to enhance government efficiency. Mayor Haygood continues to drive progress in Tuskegee and also serves as the President of the Alabama Conference of Black Mayors.?#OurMayorMondays?#OurMayors

??Today we’re celebrating Lisman, AL Mayor Jason Q. Ward who has served since 2012. He prioritizes infrastructure improvement, recreational opportunities, the renovation of community centers, and police department reinstatement for the safety and well-being of all Lisman residents. Prior to becoming mayor, Ward was a council member for 10 years. Under his leadership, Lisman received the Organization of the Year Award from the Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce in 2016. #OurMayorMondays #OurMayors

?Join us as we shine the spotlight on Birmingham, AL Mayor Randall Woodfin. Now serving in his 2nd term, he has prioritized revitalizing Birmingham’s 99 neighborhoods, addressing food deserts, public safety and creating educational opportunities. His initiative, Birmingham Promise,?provides college scholarships and apprenticeships to local high school graduates making a generational impact. Mayor Woodfin has also prioritized critical issues like gun violence reduction and affordable housing. Project ‘Home for All’?aims to create micro-housing for the homeless. Through his leadership, Birmingham has seen improved infrastructure and new programs to support the city’s most vulnerable residents. #OurMayors

?? On Oct. 16, AAMA gathered in Long Beach, CA with Mayor?Rex Richardson to address the impact of Organized Retail Crime on our communities. Panelists at the roundtable luncheon shared best practices and explored how technology can help combat these crimes.?#OurMayors

Under his leadership, Fayetteville launched major projects, including the City Center Park and a new City Hall building. Prior to becoming mayor, he served as a city councilman.
