Africa Reaching the End of AIDS in Children and Young People by 2025 (Africa REACH), is an African-led, African-focused effort intended to unify and amplify its strongest political and cultural forces to create true continental change and fulfil the promise of an AIDS-free generation in Africa. Africa REACH is partnership between the Desmond Tutu Health Foundation and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

In September, Africa REACH attended the ViiV Healthcare Pediatric Breakthrough Partnership Annual Meeting in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. This meeting brought together partners focused on advancing paediatric HIV care and advocacy. During the meeting, Africa REACH co-led the Global Advocacy Workstream session with UNICEF and UNAIDS’ Global Alliance to End AIDS in Children by 2030. Our focus: leveraging partnerships to amplify advocacy, push for accountability, and ensure commitments to end AIDS in children are turned into action. Africa REACH presented a poster at the 2024 International Workshop on Adolescence, SRHR and HIV. The poster titled “Empowering Adolescent Girls through Podcasts: Addressing Barriers to Sexual Education in Nigeria” featured our grant organisation Technology for Inspiration Initiative (InspireIT) whose adolescent-owned podcast, addresses barriers to comprehensive sexual education for adolescent girls, by tackling taboo topics like STIs and teenage pregnancy in a relatable manner. #AfricaREACH #CSE #HIVSRHRAdolescence #SRHR Academic Medical Education
