关于我们
Africa Healthcare Network (“AHN”) aims to establish the first dialysis chain across Sub-Saharan Africa, providing high-quality, life-saving dialysis at affordable cost. AHN brings world-class technical expertise combined with developing world practical operating experience to a region in dire need of quality dialysis treatment. Dialysis is a life-saving treatment for patients with Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) and End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). The few hospitals that provide treatment operate centers that are slowly deteriorating while charging prohibitive prices. Additionally, due to the lack of trained professionals and limited capital investment in care for non-communicable diseases in Sub-Saharan Africa, dialysis centers are few and far between, causing patients to endure the high costs for travel to receive care. Those who cannot afford the costs of treatment and travel are resigned to death. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and AKI are on the rise in the region due to strong epidemiologic factors, including increased urbanization leading to lifestyle diseases, other non-communicable diseases, HIV and other infections and toxins. Utilizing our network of executives/partners, we will secure high-quality equipment and train professionals to provide superior care. Our ability to source lowest cost consumables, operational efficiency and scale, will allow us to lower the cost to patients. The net result is increased access, higher quality and lower cost to patients, while maintaining superior profitability.

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Columbia Business School’s delegation to Africa Healthcare Network (AHN)! Led by CEO Matt Williams, we shared insights into how AHN is transforming kidney care across Africa—expanding access to life-saving dialysis treatment and setting new standards in healthcare excellence. As we continue driving impact, we’re proud to be a force for good and a role model in healthcare. To transform kidney care in Africa is not just our mission—it’s our commitment.
It’s a wrap! The The Jerome A. Chazen Institute for Global Business trip to Kenya has come to an end—and what an incredible learning experience it was. We focused on tech and entrepreneurship in Silicon Savannah, meeting with inspiring leaders and innovative businesses. Here are some of the highlights from the trip, featuring incredible Columbia Business School alumni: ?? We met with Matt Williams of Africa Healthcare Network , which is building out dialysis centers across Kenya and beyond. A focused and well-executed approach that is literally saving lives. ?? At Safaricom PLC, we heard from the M-Pesa and ventures teams, and dove deep into the DigiFarm initiative with alum Seema Gohil. We explored how Safaricom’s dominance in mobile money is helping solve challenges in agriculture. ?? We visited SunCulture, organized by alum and COO Jon Saunders. The company provides solar-powered irrigation systems for smallscale farmers. We saw the impact firsthand while visiting a client, Peter, on his farm. ?? Ikwetta , founded and run by alum Varsheeni Raghupathy, is bringing leather goods production back to Kenya. Although the country exports vast quantities of meat (and thus leather as a by-product), local processing is challenging—but Varsheeni is taking it on. ?? At BluePeak Private Capital , led by our own Fulton Shiundu, we got valuable insights into the private credit and equity landscape across Africa—its many opportunities, and the challenges that come with them. And these were just the alumni-organized company meetings! Along the way, we also encountered elephants, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, chimpanzees… a truly magical experience. My overall quick takeaway: Kenya is a wonderful place that has a lot of potential - especially due to the higher concentration of tech firms and talent. But they also do not have a lack of challenges that founders can tackle. I will be back very soon with the next group. Huge thanks to the amazing group of Columbia Business School students who joined me. I look forward to visiting many of you again in the future when I do another trip, to see the great things you’re building—just like Jon, who went on a CBS trip as a student and now helped make it a fantastic experience for the next generation.

?? Cleaning Up —One Step at a Time! ?? Yesterday, Africa Healthcare Network (AHN), in collaboration with the Nairobi City County (NCC), took to the streets for a community clean-up across key areas in Westlands—covering Ring Road, Woodvale, Mpaka Rd, Lower Kabete Rd, and Muthithi Rd. At AHN, "Community" isn’t just a core value—it’s a responsibility we take to heart. This initiative was about more than just cleaning up; it was a testament to AHN’s commitment to being a force for good, driving positive change in the areas where we operate. As the leading provider of holistic renal care in Africa, we strive to not only transform healthcare but also to be a role model in sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Leading the charge from AHN was our Executive Committee (EXCO), led by CEO Matt Williams and our Country Director - Kenya, Dennis Lumula, who were in Kenya for their quarterly offsite meeting. They were joined by AHN’s corporate teammates, who rolled up their sleeves, got their hands dirty, and showed firsthand what it means to take action for a healthier environment! ???? From sweeping and litter picking to garbage collection and slashing, this initiative raised awareness on proper waste management and environmental conservation, reinforcing the power of collective action. A huge shoutout to Nairobi City County's environmental champions for partnering with us: ? Dr. Maryvine Nyanchoka – Principal Environment Officer, Westlands Subcounty ? Edwin Allan Karani – Environment Officer, Parklands ? Michael Muge – Ward Administrator, Parklands ? Chris Allan Machayo – Environment Officer, EMCE And a special appreciation to AHN’s Senior ESG Manager, Agnes Kimaru, for her outstanding leadership in coordinating and planning this impactful initiative! ???? Through partnerships like these, AHN continues to champion sustainability, not just in healthcare but in every community we serve. By leading with action, we hope to set the standard for healthcare institutions looking to integrate environmental stewardship into their mission.???? #AHNCares #CleanUpWestlands #AHNCommunity #SustainabilityInAction #ForceForGood
