Afore Capital is a Pre-Seed VC with $300 million in AUM co-founded by Anamitra Banerji & Gaurav Jain. We support product-oriented founders building software companies at the very earliest stages. Our sweet spot is investing $1-2m+ into founders' first institutional round. We can lead this round alongside high value angels. At Afore, we believe that before there's a company, before there's a business, there's a product-oriented founder leading by product. The products are often raw, sometimes just rough concepts requiring a lot of imagination. They are pre-traction and pre-obvious. But they come from founders with non-obvious insights and infectious ambitions. We started Afore to back these founders at the pre-seed stage exclusively, on day zero of their journey. We bring with us 16 years of product experience and 7 years of institutional investing experience.

    ?? Exciting news from MineMe! ?? We’re incredibly lucky to partner with Afore Capital as we build our suite of generative AI tools to help companies better connect with their customers. I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to have been back in San Francisco this summer, learning from such a phenomenal team. Here are some key takeaways from this journey so far: 1?? Doing more with less: Following the 80-20 rule (my guiding force during my time at McKinsey & Company), we’ve learned that you can get 80% of the way there with just 20% of the resources when you have a strong prototype and a persuasive story. When building something of real value, people resonate with your message, opening doors and creating opportunities. Even with funding, using resources efficiently to quickly validate before perfecting the final 20% is key. 2?? Pull, not push: As Rob Snyder emphasizes, our purpose is to serve customers’ needs. When we build something that truly aligns with their priorities, excitement is organic. Build the value proposition based on the needs of the customer, not the other way around. It’s about creating value, not just generating hype. 3?? It takes a village: I am beyond thankful for the incredible support from the community. From Conor, Gaurav, Anamitra, and jack making customer introductions, to Olostep helping us generate our first dollar in revenue, to the team Wayside guiding me on running a sales-first approach—this journey is made possible by the generosity of others’ time and expertise. With all these learnings, we’re thrilled to be heads down, reshaping our suite of generative AI tools that help companies connect more meaningfully with their customers. ?? More updates to come!
