We welcomed Lt. Gen. Linda Hurry, Air Force Materiel Command deputy commander, today to give her updates about our global operations that support every organization in the Department of the Air Force. It was a bit of a homecoming for the general, who led our Expeditionary Support Directorate from August 2016-July 2017. She also took time while here to recognize four of our teammates for their outstanding performance: Capt. Melissa Maskulka, Master Sgt. Lewis Christopher, Marc Minneci and John Ahern, who was recognized in absentia because he was in the field taking care of design and construction business with our customers. #DAFStrong #IAMIMSC #DAF

The Air Force Civil Engineer Center's Natural Disaster Recovery Division is constructing oyster reefs at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, supported by DARPA's "Reefense" program. This nature-based strategy is essential for rebuilding Tyndall AFB, damaged by Hurricane Michael in 2018, and protecting 40 miles of shoreline from climate change and sea level rise. Check out the video for more info on how oyster reefs lessen storm wave impacts, slow erosion, and provide habitats by filtering pollutants, offering eco-friendly solutions with lower CO2 footprints and faster ecosystem recovery. #BattleReadyBuiltRight #DAFStrong #IAMIMSC #TyndallStrong #OysterReef
