Uniting disparate groups toward a unified goal of honoring the promise we made to our Afghan friends and allies.
关于我们
We are a self-organized group of Afghans, veterans, frontline civilians, current and former members of the national security and intelligence communities, members of human rights-focused non-profits, Hill staffers, private sector employees, and others. Members of the #AfghanEvac coalition collaborate on the full pipeline from humanitarian support on the ground through evacuation opportunities, and resettlement efforts. We built and administer the mechanism for cooperation between US government agencies and private groups and work hand-in-hand with these partners, legislators and the public to coordinate efforts, improve efficiency and disseminate information.

Hafiz reached out to #AfghanEvac yesterday and asked if we'd join his show, which is presented in Dari, and talk directly to part of the Afghan diaspora about the latest developments with #EnduringWelcome. We hope this helps. https://lnkd.in/gWc4bmAd

Americans, their families, and our allies remain stuck in Kabul because of the Executive Orders signed by President Trump on Jan 20th. We have GOT to restart #EnduringWelcome. Chairman Representative Brian Mast was right then and it remains true today.

Federal Court Blocks Suspension of Refugee Program – But Afghan Resettlement Faces New Challenges A U.S. District Court has blocked the Trump administration’s attempt to suspend the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP). This means the courts have said that refugee admissions MUST continue—a significant legal win that prevents the administration from shutting down the program unilaterally. However, while refugees can still enter the U.S., the resettlement process has been seriously weakened. The State Department has canceled Reception & Placement (R&P) contracts, which fund organizations that help refugees find housing, get job assistance, and integrate into American society. They have also canceled CARE personal services contracts (PSCs), which made up the case management staff (and more). This means: ? Refugees can still be admitted (so long as the administration complies) ?? But many will arrive with little to no support ? Delays and hardships will increase for Afghan allies and others in the pipeline We cannot let legal technicalities strip away the real-life support that refugees need. The U.S. made a promise to its Afghan allies, and we must honor it—not just by allowing entry, but by ensuring a successful transition. So now we wait for the administration to comply. What needs to happen next? Restoring R&P contracts is essential to ensuring the U.S. meets its commitments to Afghan allies and other refugees. Advocacy efforts must focus on reversing funding cuts that directly impact refugee resettlement. Policy engagement is needed to ensure that refugees not only arrive in the U.S. but have the support they need to rebuild their lives. What can you do? 1. Contact your representatives and urge them to reinstate funding for refugee resettlement agencies. https://lnkd.in/gVMUtnp3 2. Stay informed and help spread the word about what’s happening. Repost our social media posts 3. Support organizations working to fill the gaps in resettlement support. afghanevac.org/donate This fight is not over. AfghanEvac will continue advocating for real, meaningful solutions that ensure Afghan allies receive the support they were promised. And we will keep you informed. #RefugeesWelcome #KeepThePromise #AfghanEvac

The State Department just permanently terminated reception and placement contracts. That means that the aid pause impacting #SIV and refugee relocations has just become permanent. There will be no government funded help for our Afghan wartime allies unless Congress does something to change this. This does not have a direct impact on relocation flights but it does indirectly impact them because without reception and placement happening at scale, it is near impossible to run relocation flights at scale. As ever, veterans and volunteers will work to step up. This is a sad day for our national honor. And now we must accept that the shutdowns are intentional moves, not accidents, by the administration. More information as soon as we have it. See World Relief’s statement https://lnkd.in/gwPrYceg
