Did you get your November edition of the Communicator?!?! It includes a great and insightful article on the idea of the 16th AF becoming a MAJCOM by John Fairfield, a great wrap up of the 2024 Air Force Cyberspace and Air Traffic Control Association convention in amazing Dayton Ohio, as well as an awesome walk down memory lane of the importance of K2 Air Base in Korea by CMSgt George Hoyt (Ret.). If you did not get your copy feel free to reach out to Leslie McCormick or J Akerson and they can make that happen!! #afcatca #cyberspace #airtrafficcontrol

One of the many great things that happened during our annual convention was the chance for USAF Col. (Ret) Bob Chaplain to personally thank the Air Traffic Controllers whom he has worked with over the last 50+ years of his aviation career. Of note, Bob, was awarded the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award for his dedication to safety in aviation! The Air Force Cyberspace and Air Traffic Control Association would also like to share our appreciation for the Air Traffic Control professionals and what they do every day!!

Tour of our Air Force Museum, Awards Dinner (honoring our AF’s top Cyber and Air Traffic Control NCO & Senior NCO), in-person Board of Director meeting, and storytelling in the Hospitality Room. It’s all about our people; this delivered a much needed inject of inspiration. Already looking forward to Oct ‘25 in San Antonio. Shout out to my good friend Bradley Pyburn for his fantastic Keynote Address!

Finally AFCATCA has come back to wonderful Dayton, Ohio!! What a great trip this has already been! Yesterday we got a tour of the amazing National Museum of the United States Air Force. We learned about everything from MSgt John H. "Jake" Schuffert's heroics as an aircraft radio operator and a B-24 gunner as well as an inspiring cartoonist for the Stars and Stripes, the AN/TPS-1B search radar and it's historic role following the invasions of Iwo Jima and Okinawa in 1945, The AN/PA-62 Search Radar Monitor and how it was the first that allowed operators to direct intercepting aircraft their targets with it's mapping feature! Even the rain isn't going to "rain on our parade" over the next few days!!! Tomorow night we will conclude this great visit with our Annual Banquet where we will recognize this years top performers! Who is not here that would like to join us? Special shout out to our Host Ken Reiff, Co-Host Jay Adsit, our Chairman and CEO Chad Raduege and Chairman, Emeritus Harry Raduege for putting on such a wonderful event!!!
