关于我们
The National Clinician Consultation Center (NCCC) is a free, federally funded clinical education resource for all health care providers practicing in the U.S. For more than 30 years, the NCCC has established itself as trusted source of confidential guidance from practicing clinicians on the management of HIV, hepatitis C, substance use disorders (SUDs), HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) of bloodborne pathogens. The NCCC operates several on-demand national phone lines and provides digital resources to promote the delivery of high-quality care via education on best clinical practices. Our mission is to promote health equities in the United States by helping every health care professional feel supported and confident in their decision-making through evidenced-informed, person-centered clinical consultation guidance and education. Our team of clinician education specialists consists of practicing health care providers who are available to provide tailored, case-based guidance for clinicians of all experience levels. The NCCC is based out of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Department of Family & Community Medicine and located in San Francisco General Hospital. We are supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The NCCC a part of the AIDS Education and Training (AETC) program.

? This #WorldAIDSDay, we honor the lives lost, remember the immense progress made in the fight against HIV, and acknowledge the critical work that remains ahead to end the epidemic. ? This year’s theme, "Collective Action: Sustain and Accelerate HIV Progress," is a call for clinicians, communities, and policymakers to continue working together toward our shared goal of ending the epidemic in our lifetime. This World AIDS Day also carries special significance for us at the NCCC as we honor the legacy of our founder, Dr. Ron Goldschmidt, who passed away this summer.??Dr. Goldschmidt was a staunch champion of clinical education, and launched the National HIV Warmline in 1993 to offer primary care providers the guidance they needed to care for people with HIV, dispelling myths and addressing stigma in the process. ? Read our #EndHIVEpidemic quarterly newsletter to learn about the NCCC’s history, access free #HIV education resources, and more.??

We’re excited to celebrate the #PowerOfRural on #NationalRuralHealthDay, Nov 21! Join us in recognizing the spirit of rural America and the efforts of health care providers and stakeholders addressing unique health care challenges.?? ? Founded by the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) in 2011, #NRHD celebrates the dedication of rural providers, State Offices of Rural Heath, and other stakeholders who tackle the challenges faced by rural communities – including limited access to resources, provider shortages, and disproportionate funding levels.?? ? The NCCC is proud to be an easily-accessible resource for #rural clinicians who benefit from on-demand, case-based clinical education in #HIV, viral #hepatitis, and substance use disorders.?? ? The NCCC and our partners are proud to support the next generation of HIV providers.?? ? We continue to be responsive to changes in the epidemic. This includes shifts in the health care workforce and a move toward integrating #HIV care into diverse primary care settings.?? ? Notably, new analysis from our AIDS Education and Training Center (#AETC) Program partners at the AETC National Coordinating Resource Center in the Journal of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC) shows a projected reduction in HIV clinicians over the next five years – matching national trends in both HIV care and primary care.?? ? According to study authors, supporting HIV education will be crucial to achieving #EndHIVEpidemic initiative goals in the coming years. As we work toward these goals and strive for health equity, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSAgov), HHS AETC Program, including the NCCC, remains available as a free capacity building resource for all U.S. clinicians.?? ?? Happy #NPWeek to the incredible Nurse Practitioners on our clinical education team, and the more than 385,000 NPs practicing across the U.S.!?? ? NPs and other Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) are critical to addressing shortages in both #HIV care and primary care. However, they face several hurdles, including rapidly changing practice guidelines, less time for individual patient encounters, and varying access to point-of-care medical resources.? The NCCC aims to support APRNs facing these challenges through free and on-demand clinical guidance tailored to every case. Providers can feel more confident in their decision making and ready to best serve their communities with timely guidance through our #ClinicalEducation phone lines and website.? ? APRNs can learn more about our federally funded services at nccc.ucsf.edu.?? ? Thank you to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) for establishing this important awareness week and supporting NPs around the country!?
