Aesthetic Partners Co-Founder & Co-CEO Courtney Ellenbogen spoke with AP Board Member and Advisor Jay Davis, Co-Founder of the The Nashton Company, at the Harvard Business School Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition Conference this weekend. Key learnings that Courtney, an HBS graduate, shared about her Founder Journey included: 1. Hire earlier and higher than you think you need to. Finding top talent takes time; build a team of experts in their respective functions. 2. Partner for the long term. Negotiating M&A or other business deals is not a zero-sum game. A short-term win is not a true win - for long-term success, everyone needs to feel bought in. 3. As a leader, spend the majority of your time on team building. It’s important to have ownership and participation across functions for strategic initiatives, rather than leading "down from the top." Thank you to Harvard Business School and the Entrepreneurship through Acquisition Club for highlighting opportunities with ETA through this conference!
