Yesterday, Mintz Group had the honor of supporting the 2024 AESC APAC Conference, “Innovation Ignited.”?The event provided valuable insights into the latest advancements and best practices within the executive search and leadership consulting industry. During the conference, my colleague Julie Yoon, CAMS gave a keynote speech where she discussed key considerations and strategies when conducting background checks in APAC. I was also happy to hold a closed door briefing for the AESC executive team the previous day where I discussed how we are harnessing AI Tools in due diligence processes and explored how artificial intelligence, used correctly can aide our work. We are committed to staying ahead on this emerging technology given its disruptive nature and have developed our own tools, instead of relying on the openly available models hosted by providers whose practices we cannot control. The conference was?as an excellent?opportunity to engage with industry experts and?I gained a deeper understanding of emerging trends and innovations that are shaping the industry. Fantastic start at the Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants (AESC) Global Conference yesterday! Honoured to be on the visionary leadership panel together with esteemed panelists Esther An Carolyn Chin-Parry Dylan Choong and our amazing moderator Shoon Lim to discuss the importance of leadership in a dynamic and constantly evolving business landscape, embracing diversity & inclusion and the impact of sustainability, in order for enterprises to be competitive and drive growth in the high potential Asia Pacific region. It’s clear to me that, in this era of #BusinessAI, effective leaders need to build agile, resilient, and innovative teams in order to ensure that their organizations remain competitive and continue to #AcceleratetoInnovate. During my career, both at SAP and elsewhere, treating colleagues with empathy, while encouraging everyone to develop discipline, muscle memory and strategic thinking, has proved foundational to attracting, developing and retaining talent across Asia Pacific. We are proud to be the recipients of this prestigious award, which honors individuals who have made significant, outstanding contributions to the executive search and leadership consulting profession. Over the past few years, Sui and I have collaborated closely with AESC to support its members in navigating China's evolving data protection landscape. Our efforts led to the development and publication of the AESC Guidance on Chinese Personal Information Protection Law, a vital document designed to help members and the industry with actionable steps to comply with China's complex data protection laws and uphold the highest professional standards. By enhancing awareness and compliance with these stringent laws, we aim to build trust with regulators, clients, and candidates—trust that is crucial for the sustained growth and reputation of our profession. This recognition reflects our commitment to excellence, collaboration, and setting high industry standards. What a cracker of a session on Cultivating visionary leadership in the APAC - Courtesy AESC - Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants (AESC) with Shoon Lim (Russell Reynolds Associates), Esther An (City Developments Limited), Verena Siow (SAP), Carolyn Chin-Parry (PwC), and our very own Dylan Choong (Opella, Consumer Healthcare Unit of Sanofi). Loved the intentionality of building a bigger stage and potential for diverse talent, conscious steps on acquisition, succession planning and inclusion in boards, creating a stronger ecosystem on talent mobility and using clear business metrics to promote the case for inclusion.
