?? Congratulations to Aero’s Chief Technical Officer Theresa Andrejack Loux, Ph.D., P.E., ENV SP on receiving the Kapp Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers Geo-Institute of ASCE! We were delighted to attend the GeoFrontiers conference in Louisville last week where we got to celebrate Theresa and the other awardees, participate in technical sessions and committee meetings, cheer at the student competitions, and visit with many colleagues from the geotechnical and geosynthetics community.

Ultra-lightweight, insulating fill made from post-consumer recycled glass
关于我们
Aero Aggregates was created as the first vertically-integrated, U.S.-based company to produce lightweight aggregate from 100% recycled glass. The founders of Aero Aggregates realized the need for a sustainable solution due to increased requirements for lightweight construction materials. Today’s civil engineering challenges include constructing on soft soils, reducing lateral earth pressures, decreasing loads on structures, and protecting underground utilities. Aero Aggregates provides an answer to most of these challenges by supplying a lightweight, sustainable, free-draining material with a high friction angle and thermal insulating properties. Our manufacturing plants are located in Eddystone, PA, Dunnellon, FL, and Modesto, CA.

Today, we’re featuring another quick response project! This is our first DOTD project in Louisiana. We’re supplying foamed glass aggregate to the Belle Chasse Bridge, which is a key connector on the outskirts of New Orleans. This site is challenged with issues related to the soft, compressible soils of the Mississippi delta. Project credits – Contractor: Traylor-Massman JV (Traylor Bros., Inc. and Massman Construction Co.), Wall Contractor: Pinnacle Design/Build Group, Inc. ? #FGAFriday #LADOTD #AeroAggregates #Sustainability ?#ultralightweight

We’re happy to report that Aero is supplying foamed glass aggregate (FGA) to another Emergency Repair project – this time in the great state of Wyoming. The FGA, being installed by @Ames Construction, is one component of the permanent repair of @WYDOT State Highway 22, a vital roadway through the Teton Pass connecting Jackson, WY, and Victor, ID. #AeroAggregates #EmergencyRepair #Landslide #Sustainability

On this #AmericasRecycles day, our #FGAFriday project features a flood mitigation project and roadway realignment to create more resilient infrastructure. ECCO III has been installing FGA at the NYSDOT Route 6/202 Annsville Circle – Camp Smith project, located along the Hudson River north of Peekskill. The design of this project involves raising the final elevation of the roadway to minimize the negative impacts of storm events on this roadway intersection in the future. This project alone will divert the equivalent of 20 million bottles from landfill! #sustainability #ultralightweight #resiliency

At I-95/Rt 896 in Delaware, the sun’s been shining on a new interchange under construction by Wagman and Hardscapes Construction, Inc. FGA is being used as MSE backfill to build up the ramps to meet the elevation of the new bridges. #FGAFriday #DelDOT #Aeroaggregates #Sustainability #ultralightweight

We’re sharing a unique wall system with you for #FGAFriday! Hesco specializes in units that are rapidly deployable and used in a variety of applications where fast construction is key! While earthen fill is usually needed, FGA can also be used to create a sound absorbing and lightweight system – no geotextile liner required! #sustainability #ultralightweight

If you're traveling through PHL or JFK airports this busy holiday weekend, make sure to "land" your eyes on Aero's Foamed Glass Aggregate! PHL's taxiway reconstruction project is ongoing, and there’s a new retaining wall with FGA backfill going up at JFK's Terminal 6. Keep an eye out for these exciting developments as you travel! #FGAFriday #sustainability #ultralightweight #PHL #JFK
