Meet Sam Duggal, one of our certified flight instructors! She is a flight instructor at Potomac Airfield, and holds her CFI and CFII certificates. She completed her flight training at CAE Oxford Academy in Mesa, AZ and is a part of the American Airlines Cadet Academy. Sam is also a Business Management major at GMU, an avid artist, and a writer. Sam's passion and love for flying make her a knowledgeable and valuable part of our Aero Elite family! AE's instructors are making a difference around the world! ???? Otto Madrid immigrated to the U.S. from El Salvador after the earthquake in 2001 and pursued his dream of becoming a pilot. Today, he is not only following his dreams as a certified flight instructor at AE, but he also owns construction companies both in the U.S. and in El Salvador. Then in 2022, he launched Link Aviation Services, his own flight school in Illopango, El Salvador- giving Salvadorians aviation opportunities that he never had! If you haven't met James (one of AE's awesome Certified Flight Instructors) or heard his story, you're in for a treat! James's aviation journey began in the picturesque landscapes of Front Royal, VA back in 2012. Fueling his passion for flight, he soared through the skies, securing his private license in 2015, just as he tossed his graduation cap in high school. He then took a break from flying to attend Longwood University where he earned his BA in history. After graduating from Longwood in 2019, James got back into flying, progressively building his hours and acquiring his ratings at both Winchester and Leesburg, until he finally earned his CFI certification in 2022. He shared, "My late father - who passed away shortly after I became an instructor - always said: whatever career you choose to pursue, be sure it is something you can really excel at, on top of being something you really enjoy. For that reason - just as how Dad became a pediatrician - I chose to be a pilot and an instructor." Wisdom that holds true for any young PPL student or new CFI! James's story is a testament to the relentless pursuit of dreams and the unwavering determination to conquer new heights. It's no secret: we would be at ground zero without our top-notch group of instructors! Today, we recognize Matt DoCampo, who works as a CFI at our new location at Potomac Airfield, in Friendly, MD! Matt's love for flight instructing is an inspiration to us, but he didn't realize just how much he would love it when he signed up. After earning his licenses in Arizona, Matt took a break before returning to aviation in early 2022. Since then, he obtained his CFI and CFII certificates, instructing at our Potomac location since September 2022. Matt values the aviation community's support and believes in paying it forward. Instructing has exceeded his expectations, finding fulfillment in guiding students through milestones. His passion and dedication make him a valuable asset. Matt's commitment inspires others to pursue their aviation dreams. “I knew I would enjoy instructing, helping others pursue their aviation goals and dreams. But it has been far more rewarding than I imagined.
