We know our lineworkers are brave. But today, we're proud that they're the kind of people who try to help, no matter what the emergency might be. A tractor trailer lost control on I-81 in Virginia, hitting an AEP Ohio truck there helping our sister company Appalachian Power restore power following a winter storm. The lineworkers inside didn’t miss a beat. After confirming they were each OK, they moved the truck to a safe place, then jumped out to see how they could help. Lineworkers Zach and Cory helped a passenger get out of the tractor trailer's cab, and offered first aid to others involved while waiting for emergency responders. "These two men went above and beyond right after being in an accident," their supervisor said. "They prioritized the needs of others over themselves." Way to go, guys!

Coshocton employees recently visited the #CoshoctonCountyCareerCenter to share their passion and insights ahead of the center's Utility Lineworker program launch this fall. The crew showcased equipment and shared real-world experiences — from the challenges of working in extreme weather to the camaraderie among lineworkers. The new program will help students gain a competitive edge in the job market, learning essential skills that can lead to fulfilling careers. February is #BlackHistoryMonth, a time devoted to recognizing the contributions of Black Americans. Columbus-born Granville T. Woods worked with electricity, invented the inductor telegraph and received nearly 60 patents — many of which improved safety — over his lifetime. #SafetySaturday
