It’s Day 3 of Construction Inclusion Week, and today’s focus is on supplier diversity. Supplier diversity is a vital business practice that ensures businesses owned by diverse individuals or groups have the opportunity to participate in the procurement of goods and services. This includes businesses that are at least 51% owned and operated by traditionally underrepresented or underserved groups, such as minority-owned (MBEs), woman-owned (WBEs), small-business enterprises (SBEs), LGBTQ+, veterans, and persons with disabilities. Incorporating diverse suppliers not only strengthens our supply chain but also promotes economic growth within communities and fosters innovation across the industry. Today, Mike Arroyo, our Regional Manager of Compliance and Diversity, shares his insights on why supplier diversity is crucial for the success of our projects and the future of the construction industry. Let’s continue working toward a more inclusive and equitable future! #ConstructionInclusionWeek #SupplierDiversity #InclusionMatters #AECOMHunt #BuildingTogether #DiversityInConstruction #EquityInAction

It’s Day 2 of Construction Inclusion Week, and today’s focus is on “Belonging.” Belonging means feeling valued as a member of a community, and when people feel that connection, they find a sense of purpose. This is essential for creating an environment where every team member can thrive. Education and understanding the implications of unconscious bias are critical steps in cultivating a culture of inclusion and belonging. By recognizing and addressing these biases, we can ensure that everyone feels they have a place in our projects and our industry. Today, we’re excited to hear from Kendall Williamson, our Director of Community and Industry Engagement, who will share his insights into the importance of belonging on our projects and across the construction industry. Let’s continue working together to build a more inclusive future for all. #ConstructionInclusionWeek #Belonging #InclusionMatters #BuildingTogether #Diversity #Community?#AECOMHUNT

Today marks the start of Construction Inclusion Week, a pivotal time to reflect on the shared responsibility we all have in fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging in the construction industry. At AECOM Hunt, we know that leadership and accountability are not just top-down initiatives—they are collective responsibilities that each of us can demonstrate every day, regardless of role or title. ? True leadership is about influencing others toward a common goal. Accountability is owning our actions. When it comes to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), these principles take on even greater meaning. We are all leaders, modeling the behaviors we want to see in others and driving toward the goal of a more inclusive and equitable society. At the same time, we must hold ourselves and others accountable for actions that inspire change and create real impact. ? Throughout this week, our Construction Inclusion Week Ambassadors will be sharing their insights on the importance of inclusion across all our projects. Today, we’ll hear from Shanaé Barnes, who will offer her perspective on how we can continue driving positive change and ensuring that diversity, equity, and inclusion remain at the heart of everything we do. Let’s keep working together to build a more inclusive future for everyone! ? #ConstructionInclusionWeek #InclusionMatters #Leadership #Accountability #AECOMHunt #AECOMTishman #DEI #BuildingTogether

The newest trends in football stadiums are redefining the fan experience, with domed structures offering versatility for hosting mega-events like WrestleMania and the Super Bowl, once limited to warm-weather cities. As Kenneth Johnson, Executive Vice President and Sports Market Sector Lead at AECOM Hunt, explains, "How do we get fans to the stadium, keep them in their seats, and give them a unique experience?" Enhanced technology is central, with modern stadiums investing up to 20% of their budget in tech, including advanced Wi-Fi and immersive video screens, to compete with the ever-evolving in-home viewing experience.? The AECOM Hunt legacy started 80 years ago as a family-owned business, constructing a factory that supplied the US during WWII and from there has grown into one of the leading builders in the United States. ? Founded in the heart of Indianapolis in 1944, AECOM Hunt began as Huber, Hunt & Nichols, a daring venture by visionaries Paul Hunt, Arber Huber, and Harry Nichols. Born out of the fervor of World War II, the company initially focused on the construction of industrial and manufacturing facilities. Though Huber and Nichols departed early on, Paul Hunt took the reins, steering the company through decades of growth and innovation. His legacy was meticulously passed down through three generations of the Hunt family. ? Paul turned the reins over to his son RC in 1953. RC immediately pushed for diversification, as his vision for the company extended way beyond the automobile industry. He wanted to continue building automotive plants while chasing other types of work too, including hospitals, corporate headquarters, research centers and schools. To make this happen, RC knew he would have to expand their reach beyond Indianapolis. Soon enough, they broke ground on a Ford Assembly Plant in Louisville, Kentucky. Subsequently, they constructed Butler Women’s Residence for Bulter University in Indianapolis and a new Community Hospital for the City of Indianapolis.?His urge for diversification was paying off, and ultimately, RC would go on to lead the company for 60 years.? ? Since then, AECOM Hunt has become one of the largest construction managers in the United States, completing 850M square feet of space and contributing to some of the nation’s most iconic buildings and venues. They are a leader in the construction of sports projects, convention centers, and aviation terminals while also making significant strides in the healthcare, higher education, and hospitality sectors. ? In the coming weeks, we’ll look back on the talented individuals and iconic projects that have shaped us over the past 80 years. Make sure you follow along! ? #AECOMHunt #80yearanniversary #constructionindustry #BuildingTheFuture #MilestoneAnniversary #FoundationForTheFuture
