Kaye and her team worked with ALCOSAN to incorporate regionalized assets into their Capital Improvement Plan, using an AI-based approach to improve the speed and accuracy of sewer inspection programs while also integrating equity into their needs assessments and asset management processes.? ? We’re excited to announce our selection by the TCTA (Trans-Caledon Tunnel Authority) for consultancy services for the development of the Smithfield Dam and associated infrastructure in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. This critical work is part of the uMkhomazi Water Project Phase One (uMWP-1), which involves the storage and transfer of around 220 million cubic meters per year of raw water via construction of an 81-meter-high earth core rockfill dam and a 26-meter-high earth core rockfill saddle dam. With decades of experience in complex project delivery, George Robbins has worked across a wide range of sectors, from transportation to IT. Now a program manager based in our Chicago office, he’s using his expertise to expand transit access to new riders regionwide.? One of his favorite projects at AECOM has been the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District’s West Lake Corridor — an eight-mile extension of the South Shore Line commuter rail. Once complete, the expansion will provide a vital transportation route from the high-growth areas of Lake County, Indiana to the Chicago metropolitan area, improving mobility while reducing vehicular traffic and emissions. ? ? Located at the busiest border crossing in North America, the Gordie Howe International Bridge between Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan is set to become a new symbol of the important partnership between Canada and the United States. Once complete, it will mark the first new major bridge between the two countries in over 60 years. With 37 years of experience, including 18 years with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) of Transportation, Michael Girman has had a hand in some of the state’s most significant and complex transportation projects. He brings this expertise to his work as senior vice president and regional business line leader at AECOM, where he leads our teams and collaborates with stakeholders and government agencies to deliver transformational projects across the transportation market. One of the highlights of his career has been the I-95 reconstruction program, which he first became involved with during his time at PennDOT. We’re excited to share our selection by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to provide design services for Segment 3C-4 of the North Houston Highway Improvement Project, a planned multi-segment redesign of I-45N, between downtown Houston and the North Sam Houston Tollway.? ? Our scope of work for the project includes designing four express lanes, realigning I-45's six main lanes, and widening from one to four managed lanes from west of Houston Avenue to west of White Oak Bayou. This project aims to alleviate traffic congestion, enhance commuter safety and improve flood resiliency, and will include drainage system improvements intended to allow the roadway to be functional during extreme weather events.? ? “Our team has a deep understanding of the region’s infrastructure needs and a strong track record of successful collaborations with TxDOT.
