We love to reflect on the collaboration between Scoutlier, Lewis Elementary School and AMRoC FabLab. This partnership not only brought STEM education to and all girls STEM club, but also allowed us to equip teachers with the tools they need to continue inspiring this next generation of innovators. Thanks to a generous $5,000 donation from Spradlin via the Women In Defense, Lewis Elementary gained access to our teacher professional development, great new classroom supplies, and Scoutlier comprehensive programs and curriculum. Our CEO Brandy Jackson reflected on her own experience in college, where she was one of only three girls in a class of 100 students. Her story highlights a key issue: girls often lose confidence in STEM during middle school years, due to societal pressures and stereotypes. This is exactly why the STEM Club at Lewis Elementary School is so important—it's showing girls they belong, and empowering them to solve problems using tools like robotics, sensors, and coding. We look forward to continuing to build partnerships and support initiatives like this to make a real difference in empowering girls and shaping a diverse, innovative future. ?? Our initiatives like the Global Challenges, Local Solutions App-A-Thons hosted in our platform aren’t just about teaching students HOW to build an app. They are also about breaking down barriers and showing students that tech careers are accessible to everyone. As our Instructional Design Lead Beth Price put it, “This competition is exposing students to real-world jobs and helping them realize that anyone can work in tech.”? ??
