Setting the standard in strategy and planning for the cultural and creative industries since 1991.

关于我们

AEA Consulting is one of the world’s leading cultural consulting firms. We have over two decades of experience assisting clients in the cultural sector internationally, helping them to define, plan, and achieve their long-term goals. Specialists in facilities, operational, and strategic planning, we collaborate with public and private cultural organizations and their funders in the U.S., U.K., Europe, Asia, and Australia to help them realize the contribution that culture can make to communities. We work with our clients from the initial conceptual planning of a project through feasibility studies and detailed planning to implementation and start up, advising and supporting them all along the way. AEA’s work stands on two foundations: a strong analytical approach, and a close understanding of and empathy for the goals of stakeholders in the cultural sphere. We approach problem-solving with curiosity, creativity and integrity, and our multi-disciplinary and multi-national team brings to our work a deep understanding of a wide range of cultural environments and issues.

In "Museums and Real Estate Development: A Roadmap for Positive Impact," AEA Consulting Founding Director Adrian Ellis and Associate Jake Hiebert explore the opportunities and challenges that come with zoning incentives for cultural investment and discuss successful partnership?guidelines. Ellis and Hiebert developed the piece for?International Council of Museums (ICOM), and examine?what has sparked this trend, including a global rise in mega-developments, increased public-private developer partnerships, increased large-scale developments with art museums or galleries as central elements, as well as a global softening of high street retail, and a desire for experiential alternatives to define street-level developments. The piece lays out a comprehensive roadmap for success, from the role of the RFP, to the importance of understanding opportunities and tensions present in the context, to the need for long-term understanding of mission and vision between cultural and developer partners. The latest editorial on #ICOMVoices, written by? Elise Foster Vander Elst, Head of Exhibitions and Environmental Impact Lead at the Design Museum, UK, identifies 9 steps cultural institutions can take to develop more sustainable exhibitions. The steps include: 1. Bring together colleagues across your institution; 2. Develop and use tools that measure your environmental impact, such as the free museum specific carbon calculator created by the Gallery Climate Coalition (GCC); 3. Empower your staff to use these tools, like the Carbon Literacy Training for Museums, so sustainability work is a celebrated part of the culture; 4. Make clear, ambitious goals in your collaborations. Questions to ask contractors are identified in the Design Museum’s “Exhibition Design for our Time” guide; 5. Find specialists that can supplement your areas for growth; 6. Use existing resources to help make informed decisions, like Sustainable Development Goals, the ICCROM OCM toolkit, or more region-specific tools; 7. Persuade at least 25% of your group to embrace change, as 25% is the tipping points. Connect with colleagues working in this area, or join a network or membership organization; 8. Make a plan and track progress; 9. Treat it like a marathon, not a sprint, to support sustained work.

In a letter with 3,000 signatures, artists argue that the auction supports companies using AI models to “exploit human artists, using their work without permission or payment to build commercial AI products that compete with them.” Read the full piece here: https://lnkd.in/eHya5RpY

Raj Patel, an acoustic expert who helped to design Little Island NYC, explained to The Wall Street Journal how noise pollution from traffic, trains and other sources can be minimized in the article linked below. ??? Read Raj's post here:

I’ve lived in New York for almost half my life, and before that London, Hong Kong, Sydney, and Los Angeles, for various periods of time, not to mention countless cities around the world where I have visited often and collaborated on projects. Many have undergone vast transformation the last 30 years and continue to change and evolve. ?Much of my focus during that time has been on improving how cities sound and mitigating the myriad noise sources through good design and planning. ?There is still much to accomplish, and great lessons to be learnt from projects old and new on how to do it well. ? I was pleased to be asked by Wall Street Journal to talk about?it, to make some of the approaches more accessible, and show how they can support a sense of wellbeing, safety and enjoyment.?It was a pleasure to make, and I hope you enjoy it. Thanks Wall Street Journal for the invitation, and thanks to my colleagues Joseph Digerness, Ryan Cox, Jessica Cascio and Ozgur Gungor, APR for all their help.?
